dayday Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 Do you think with all the money spent the gates will increase much,i think they will...and i guess the average will be around 26,000 mark what do you think.
Larry_LCFC Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 Probably but I will tell you in 6 months time when I actually have some figures to base my answer on...

Corky Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 First game will draw a big crowd, attendances after that will depend on results.
1964FOX Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 I will judge it from our attendance against Real Madrid. I imagine that will give an indication of our average attendance next season as everyone there will be looking forward to the league games, surely they won't be anyone else there, other than those looking forward to attending regularly.

I think A LOT of armchair fans will come out for that 1 actually. And arguably a lot of fans (like me) will save the £30 to spend on a more important game. ...maybe they'll even out, but you see my point.
Madrid_Fox Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 We averaged 23,666 last year. As long as we average more than Forest again I don't care

Madrid_Fox Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 When we got automatic promotion in 2002/2003 season we had 10 games of over 30,000 spectators. It proves that If your winning you will draw the people inside.

Dan Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 First game will draw a big crowd, attendances after that will depend on results. Like Middlesbrough last year? A whopping crowd of 21,587... Agreed about your second point though, I reckon if we do well we'll put in 26k+

Agreed about your second point though, I reckon if we do well we'll put in 26k+ I think there's genuine optimism now and people will want to see how the team shapes up. There's far more belief this summer.

Marmite Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 I would say the 25,000 mark to start with, if we are in the promotion places come christmas, there will be alot of 2nd half season tickets sold and the glory hunters will come out which will push it up to around 27,000 if were mid table come christmas expect it to drop to around 23,000 like last season
Guest Bilo Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 If the average attendance next season is under 26,000 I'd be very, very surprised. There's plenty of optimism around, the board are almost certain to have special ticket offers on against lower profile opposition and there are numerous clubs with decent away followings in the division. Obviously it's hard to say definitively but I can see 30,000 plus attendances for the local derbies, Leeds and possibly West Ham if there's anything riding on it.

It proves that If your winning you will draw the people inside. Big difference though. On average People had a lot more disposable income back then and the ticket prices were cheaper overall. You are going to struggle to get over 10,000 on top of season ticket holders paying over £30-£35 a game for 23 games a year, it's just too much money in the present climate.
