I think 42,000 is the first expansion with it possible to go to 55,000 after?

I'm willing to accept I'm wrong, just what I've heard, read or been told. :)

i know one of the architects/engineers that worked on the stadium the footings have only been dug deep enough on the east stand side to increase by 10,000 if after that they could increase it again he said not.

We wont even need to go above 32,000 with our current pricing structure, just because we hit mid table in the premiership doesnt mean people will start shitting money.

i agree with you mate 32,000 is prob enough for the support we get..last time in the prem we only filled it when we played the biggger clubs man u arsenal chelsea ect

Last time in the prem it was more than 30,000 most weeks, can only think of Bolton and Fulham at home that were not.

If we stayed up, 42K would be fine, we would average over 36K.

Just goes to show the shameful age we live in when a game played by school boys with jumpers for goalposts ....... and a team like us, who used to play in a humble little ground called Filbert Street in the backstreets of Leicester can be dragged through the shit by greedy twats like Bryan Robson and his consortiums of billionaires who will never know real football passion is.

:appl:

Id guess that Robson "missed the boat" in terms of earnings as a player, even though he captained Man u and England, his personal wealth would be nowhere near that of a player turning out regularly for the likes of Wigan, Blackburn in the upcoming premier league season. The after dinner circuit is a no-no because no one wants to listen to the boring cnut, and his managerial experience has earnt the tag "relegation robbo", so his fingers now delve into various unsavoury thai pies it appears, he strikes me as the "do anything for a fiver" sort of bloke who's extent of footballing knowledge stretched to confirmation that Sheff Weds could in fact attract upto 38000 fans upon a return to the premiership. I wonder what Steve Gibson thought of his performance given that Gibson comes over as one of the very few owners of a club that seem to love the game and once employed Robbo to subsequently get his team relegated.

Are you joking? We didnt average that last time when it was far cheaper and we were in an economic boom instead of a recession....

If you think we would average over 36,000 you are saying we have bigger support than clubs such as Everton, Tottenham and Aston Villa.

Absolutely no chance.

add to the fact he has gambled and drank everything he had....

Check those attendances and tell me we didn't average over 30K, only two there below.

No reason why if we didn't stay up for a few years we wouldn't hit 35K AVERAGE, boosted by bigger crowds against the big clubs.

Not concerned. The only thing wrong with what they were talking about doing was owning two clubs, and even then it was just vague theory, and there is no evidence to suggest that it is actually happening.

Besides that it was just a bunch of guys talking business. Where large amounts of money is involved there is always several layers and facets to the structure. The same applies at your bank, so if you're going to be concerned about how big business deals with big money then you should be worried about your savings long before you worry about LCFC.

But you arent taking into account the financial costs of what it costs to go now compared to then, people had shitlods of cash then. We actually averaged 27,000 in the championship in the 1st season. We have not got close to that since.

A lot of those games still didnt sell out in the premiership so why do you expect this time round in harsher economic times we will sell 5,000 more?

We just organised a game with Real Madrid and it was on general sale for a few days before selling out.

i think the stadium is the right size at the moment. don't see us hitting 40k at all. if the tigers didn't exist...maybe.

good point ref the tigers .....i think 30k in the prem would be a good attendance for us in this climate

I watched the programme last night and my reflections are:

1. King Power are businessmen using the Leicester City brand as a platform to extend their airport duty free business into the UK and Europe. They are not philanthropists and don't love Leicester City in the same way as us fans do. They will enjoy the ride as I hope we will.

2. I don't understand why Alex Ferguson would want to spend a second in the company of Joe Sim.

3. The most important feature of the programme in my mind was the statement by Greg Clarke that the Football League had no faith in their own systems to establish the truth behind information put forward as to the identity of club owners and his admission that the Football League did not have the staff or resources to do so.

I still find the lack of information about who owns the club to be a concern.

Just watched the programme.

I have to say the parallels between it and our club's takeover are a little concerning.

We'll just have to see, I suppose!

I think it's clear the that current owners want success, just hope they don't drop us in the cack.

It wouldn't surprise me if we weren't more involved with these guys, it'd be just our luck.

Even the FA chief said that although the 'owners' are ratified, they know nothing of the "owners' owners" or even the "owners' owners' owners".

For all we know, King Power might be the legitimate "front of house" and the people actually investing in the club are completely different.

I've read somewhere that young Top has always been a Leicester fan. Now I've no idea if this is true, but assuming it is, who would be a more perfect set of chosen 'owners' than these guys. His 'love' for the club, which could be genuine, could be a smokescreen for the goings on behind the scenes.

I hope not, but there a few too many tenuous links: Thais, selling of training ground, Milan Mandaric.

Agree with this, getting the fans on side... Top being a Leicester fan.... we have no idea who is investing in our club. Where exactly is all this money coming from, you may not care however unless they get a return on their investment they will move on...

Posted

Watched it and not worried in the slightest, these Thai's are in it for the good and not the bad... We will be owned by them for a very, very long time me thinks!

With hopefully as much money as we've spent already this Summer, I'll be happy...

Can someone explain how "Asia Football Investments" and "King Power" are connected?

Reading the separate Walkers Stadium website http://www.thewalkersstadium.co.uk/index.html it is apparent that King Power itself and not a subsidiary of King Power in the name of K Power Sports or some variation is the true owner of the club although for some reason the club persists in the myth that Top is the ultimate owner. Surely, the shareholders of the top level of King Power are the true ultimate owners.

"The Thai duty-free company, owned by Leicester City Chairman, Vichai

Raksriaksorn and Vice-Chairman, Aiyawatt Raksriaksorn, have added the stadium

naming rights, alongside ownership of the Club, via Asia Football Investments

(AFI) and now enter the second year of a three-year agreement as Club shirt

sponsors."

I'm looking forward to the new season but remain niggled at the lack of transparency and inconsistency in the "facts" being put into the public domain.

If we go up expect a major spending spree if we don't then Sven will probably be out and someone high profile installed and once again Top/Vic will certainly back whoever it maybe.. They are in it for the long run and want to see us established in the Premier League

That's the vibe i get anyhow

PS: Will say tho what a dodgy, scummy sod Bryan Robson is!

You've changed your argument slightly, because you did say that we didn't average the attendances that we actually did.

But i do agree with your point about the current economic climate, but as you say, we averaged 27K last time we were promoted and were in the top two all season. Last season we averaged 24K and were not even close to being promoted, if we start the season well and remained in the top two this year, i don't see why we wouldn't average 26K-27K, especially as were expecting more season ticket holders this season. The season we finished 5th under Pearson, we had 8 matches of the 23 that were more than 27K so the potential is there IMO.

Also, we were struggling last time we were in the prem and averaged 30K, so maybe if we did stay up for a couple of years, it wouldn't be too surprising to see a few extra thousand to attend more regularly.

Just my optimistic opinion maybe

Do you think if we get to the premier league and someone makes them a huge offer they will turn it down because "they want to see us established in the prem?" Of course they wont.

Top isnt a Leicester fan, I dont know where all that nonsense was brought up from and the only ones who really believe it are the same ones who stood there singing "Milan is a Leicester fan" from the bottom of thier hearts.

Sven is off at the end of the year, I'm absolutely convinced of that now, there appears to be no effort to extend the deal from either side and I have asked Stringer a few times to mention it and no response is ever even given to the question.

Robson is a slimeball but so are most people in football. We can't really moan with what we have in charge.

Top went to the league cup final replay against Middlesboro at Hillsborough and has apparantly followed Leicester ever since, not saying he is a big fan but easily more of a fan than plenty of Leicester fans who never go to a game but just moan.

So it makes him more of a fan than anyone who has attended less than 2 games in the last 10 years then.

If he did go, great, brilliant, It was an incredible night to be a city fan wasnt it?. I went to watch the Las Vegas 51's once, wouldnt claim I supported them though if I tried to buy them tomorrow.

Notts County a year ago. That is all.

I think Notts County was a different situation altogether. There never was any money, it was literally a full-on fraud.
