jonno24 Posted 18 July 2011 Posted 18 July 2011 Not concerned about this at all. Just because Ariwatt knows this Joe Sim bloke doesnt mean he has done anything wrong.
lee(lcfc) Posted 18 July 2011 Posted 18 July 2011 it wont bother me if he sells when we go up, but if they leave us in a mess then i would be p***** off
Bert Posted 18 July 2011 Posted 18 July 2011 Chill out guys and look forward to the season ahead. These boys are here to stay.
JJS84 Posted 18 July 2011 Posted 18 July 2011 Dispatches - How to buy a football club! Some scary stuff about buying clubs, it's like their buying a pair of shoes or something. So many championship clubs mentioned, and every club outside the prem seems to be available. Most worryingly it all seems to be run through a Thai business man who clearly doesn't care about the clubs and is in it for huge profits, and this man also helped advise our Thai owners on buying our club. This is not to say that in any way our owners will look to make massive profits and leave us high and dry, but it does make interesting viewing. If you can get it on some form of catch up tv I advise to take a look. Also Brian Robson is in all the undercover footage, seems to be a front man for football fund.
jonno24 Posted 18 July 2011 Posted 18 July 2011 Chill out guys and look forward to the season ahead. These boys are here to stay. That Joe Sim bloke seems to be spouting a load of shit anyway he is practically saying Alex Ferguson is bumming him
Chryatis Posted 18 July 2011 Posted 18 July 2011 Anybody else shitting bricks? not yet but must admit it is slightly worrying
sphericalfox Posted 18 July 2011 Posted 18 July 2011 Chill out guys and look forward to the season ahead. These boys are here to stay. I think they are here to stay. I just don't want the programme to sully our reputation. Tenuous the links may be.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 18 July 2011 Posted 18 July 2011 I don't think what's happening to us is a good thing, personally. Not solely based on this programme but elements of it.
Kenners Posted 18 July 2011 Posted 18 July 2011 Chill out guys and look forward to the season ahead. These boys are here to stay. Or, maybe like 'Sim' just said its a PR show to get us on their side. Edit: But im not worrying at the minute. Nothing seems to be amiss as of yet.
Statto Posted 18 July 2011 Posted 18 July 2011 I think they are here to stay. I just don't want the programme to sully our reputation. Tenuous the links may be. I have to agree - if they were going to do a runner in 12 - 18 - 36 months time I don't think they would have named the stadium after themselves.

I think the biggest worry is who makes up our consortium. But had those thoughts before this news broke. Can bert shed any light on this? Sven seems ok with it though.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 18 July 2011 Posted 18 July 2011 Well if true then we'll find out in due course. An investigation must be inevitable now.

Bert Posted 18 July 2011 Posted 18 July 2011 Our owners only know him. They've done nothing wrong are dead genuine. Mandaric never bothered doing up the training ground like these have. Do you really think they'd go out to sponsor us with their successful worldwide company, re-name our stadium if they were either corrupt or in it for a fast buck. Not only would they be in a very shaky position, but more importantly for them, their well renowned name would be going through the mud. The media will do anything they can to make a story out of nothing.
John Matrix Posted 18 July 2011 Posted 18 July 2011 well i doubt they'd try and pull anything now..if that ever was the plan (unlikely). would make more sense to have a constant advertising board (lcfc) for their company in the Prem than selling up straight away.

Not only would they be in a very shaky position, but more importantly for them, their well renowned name would be going through the mud. The media will do anything they can to make a story out of nothing. What worries me is not so much whether they're corrupt (looks very, very, very unlikely) or in it for a fast buck (also unlikely). It's more the idea that spending millions and getting us promoted is somehow a foolproof plan. If we don't get promoted, it doesn't bear thinking about. And even if we do get promoted, what then? How much investment is needed to eventually make us self-sufficient? The whole thing concerns me deep down. It's one big gamble and that doesn't end with promotion.
olliebd Posted 18 July 2011 Posted 18 July 2011 The thing is.... If the owners were in Leicester for a quick buck...I doubt they would be spending so much money in Asia to promote Leicester and buying new players..... If they just wanted to make a few million they could just get in loan players, get into the premier league and sell.... I think were ok
Matt Posted 18 July 2011 Posted 18 July 2011 Worrying but no more worrying or raised any new question to when they came in. They seem genuine, they havn't put a foot wrong (yet) and have done good for the club so far - That does raise questions and go along with what the programme said regards getting the fans on side with good PR, but like Bert said they have invested their own name in our club, their global business, would they really risk ruining that doing dodgy deals? Doubt it. Besides at this current moment, we are in a much better position and I feel much more confident, trustful and happy in these owners than I ever did when Mandaric owned us. (The thing that worries me perhaps is what potentially dodgy deal Mandaric did when selling us) But we've never had money like this before, we were in money trouble under Manadric, e.t.c (Apparently), so at this current time we are in a good position I reckon, what happens in the future, whether the Raksriaksorns stay or go, it remains to be seen but we'll just have worry about it if/when it happens.

I have stated on other threads i think these guys are long haul. We can all see what they are doing for the club and us. MM may have saved us but his plan was only ever to sell at a proffit. To be honest i'd be worried if i was an owls fan more so than i am now.
