Maybe Sven has found our answer to the left back position without spending the 4m or so that we were all wanting him to pay for Naughton. Guess we'll see as time goes on. Wherever he plays, looks like Schlupp could be a star in the making! Not liking our forward line still. Don't get me wrong, Dyer Waggy and Gally are all decent players and I want every one of them to stay, but even adding Nugent in there a big striker is surely a priority right now. I'm going with 5-3 City ! He deserves a shot in his favoured position. We have Konchesky, Ball and Berner as LB's. Dyer could just as well fill in at LB too tonight if necessary. Sven knows what he can/can't offer, he's never played Schlupp before, bar the sole appearance at LB.

Don't see why Berner would be getting starts if he wasn't still under consideration for a role of any sort. Would have thought he was either still challenging or he'd be told he wasn't required.

Maybe your right it is just fitness, though I am wondering why Sven wouldn't play him up front to see what he can do there and why he has him in as a left back. Beauty of pre season you never really know what's going on but in Sven we trust !!

It's all a ploy to piss him (Schlupp) off so he explodes with 7 goals on his full debut when he gets his chance up front.
