Leicester City vs Bursaspor match thread

SSL wasn't in the squad because he was shot in the kneecaps with an air rifle in training earlier. Mainly because he has an annoying face and looks as simply as konchesky sounds. Has anyone seen that interview on foxesplayer? What is the best thing you will bring to lcfc paul? "Well ma ability innit"

It was the way he kept rocking in and out of shot that was the most ridiculous thing.

He can be as simple as he likes though. All I care about is that he plays well for the club.

what was the fight about?

Bursaspor players were trying to wind up some of our players occasionally, biggest scene was just at half-time, when Bamba and Peltier in particular were being picked on.

The Turks were simply in for a brawl it seemed, shoving, pushing and overall trying to disrupt our own attacks with rather unfair measures.

We weren't disgraced even though the match was fantastically dull.

Little creativity on show but these matches are all about gelling and we slowly seem to be doing just that. Still unbeaten in pre-season and with all due respect, Coventry aren't Bursaspor. I see little reason to sweat just yet.

Everyone who has complained about our performance last night should read this. I knew just because people had watched the game that they would moan, I'm willing to bet 90% of pre-season friendlies play out like that.

yes until Mills went of then he played right CB

Big issue this.....

Tunchev aside, we do not have a 'natural' left center back, Mills, SSL and Bamba all prefer the right side. Given the number of defenders we have brought in this summer I am surprised by this, and not in a good way...

One good thing is that Konchesky is a class act at this level, playing alongside him should not be too tough for whoever gets the job, Bamba looked ok yesterday though Mills looked pretty rusty, understandably perhaps..

Still, only pre-season and we are unbeaten......:fc:

Good to see us being physically competitive yesterday. Sven and Faz have clearly been working on this, as this wasn't always evident last season.

Looks to me like Bamba was OK (albeit from highlights), and Mills was very complimentary about him on Twitter last night. Most on here seem to think he was terrible? Was he or are people being blinded by popular opinion on here?

There is a mixture of scottish fans talking about bombscare, Bamba had some hard times on lcb and a fair few thinks he should be a "standard" nononsence Championship defender. When he plays like he was in Barcelona he becomes a "bombscare" by some fans who doesn't see the beauty of the game.

I thought he looked no better or worse than Mills, the defence was caught short on a number of occasions and sharper finishing by Bursapor would have produced goals or spectacular saves from Schmeichel.

This it suprised me how strong we looked main thing that worried me tho seem'd to get caught on the break a few times which was one of our main problem's last season.

Yeah, from one of the highlights, Mills is way off the pace (understandable) allowing their striker a one-on-one, yet it seems to have gone unnoticed on here!

Well he hasn't got a reputation as Molotov MIlls unlike Bomb-scare Bambatongue.png

Mills looked very rusty indeed, Bamba (and Peltier) covering on numerous occasions. Not bothered about this much given his experience at this level.

What does worry me somewhat is that it looks like Bamba has drawn the short straw, playing on Mills' left, can't really see SSL playing that side. Would love to see the Tunch in this position, but I fear we have seen the last of him...

Michael Ball?

Michael Ball?

Apart from the fact that he is not yet our player, he is a left fullback.

Sven is clearly hoping that he can cover both the fullback and the LCB position, maybe he can but I don't see him as a starter though.....:dunno:
