nuttytimmy Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 I think we didn't do badly against a very aggressive Bursaspor side, considering we arrived off the back of 5 hours' travel yesterday to play a friendly in front of a dozen locals and my brother... Anyway, here's my tuppence.
smokey Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 Im sure when Bolton went up from the Championship many moons ago under Big Sam they lost every pre-season game so leave it out until the Cov game comes plus we will be much fitter and organised and also have 2 or 3 more players in!
CKB Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 Are people actually allowed to put some constructive criticism on here or do we all have to come on after every match shouting we were brilliant and we are going to walk the league. There is nothing wrong in pointing out where we have problems after watching a game.... Nope but there's no need to go into panic mode during a pre-season friendly! I'll certainly be having my say like i have in the past if things ain't quite going right when the season is 10 games in.. Teams have to gel, sometime luck doesn't go for you, etc, etc... After a pre-season game i ain't going to go on one as in my eyes there's no point and i won't go on one fully even if we have a poor start to the season I've always said after 7/8/9/10 games then you have the right to question and worry abit because it's still very early days
sphericalfox Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 On the plus side it was our first clean sheet.. and i wanted it to be a boring draw cos i had some cash on it ...ok Mr. Sim
TrentFox Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 Are people actually allowed to put some constructive criticism on here or do we all have to come on after every match shouting we were brilliant and we are going to walk the league. There is nothing wrong in pointing out where we have problems after watching a game.... Thought that was a good work-out against a strong opposition. Miles more positives than negatives. Nothing wrong with pointing out what wasn't good .... it's the way some people do it that irks. Makes for a better forum when people suggest how it could be improved rather than just pointing out flaws ... we're all world experts on spotting weaknesses. Thought occured to me whilst watching .... why have we not tried an MO'N 5-3-2 set-up? Given the amount of defenders we now have, (some of whom are very good and influential), we could easily play 3 central defenders with Konch and Pelts pushing on. That would still allow Sven to play a central 3 in the middle of the pitch, (which seems to be his way with this squad). It would also mean our central striker wasn't so isolated. It would mean sacrificng a Gally or Vassell, but does anyone else think it would be interesting ?
CKB Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 What a brilliant picture. Brilliant! now all we need is abit of photoshopping skills and Yuki could be literally taking a dump on the pitch!
Guest Bilo Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 Another point that should be remembered is the fact that the team had a bit of a 'mare travelling from Sweden less than 24 hours ago. It all takes its toll.
Guest shearfox Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 Bursaspor are a good side so a draw isn't too bad. I thought on the whole we defended well but probably could have created more going forward but still I'm happy enough with how we played today.
sphericalfox Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 What a brilliant picture. Is that when he fell over the ball?
Guest MattP Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 I dont think anyone is "panicking" - just pointing out things we need to change if we are to try and sustain a promotion push this season.
MC Prussian Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 What a bunch of prats. It's only a fooking friendly. Every pre-season the clowns come out with this sort of shite just because City don't put on a five star show in what is just a glorified run around. Get a grip or you'll be topping yourselves when something goes wrong in a proper match. Now that we're perceived as some kind of a Championship Powerhouse (even though I still don't know whether we actually deserve that label), it attracts a particular new crowd. I sense there have been much more, younger so-called LCFC fans signing up on here in the past few weeks. Kids who are just in for the glory part and need something to brag about to their Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United mates in Glen Parva. So, drawing against one of the better Turkish football sides in a pre-season friendly must come as some sort of shock. Poor little 'uns. Who can blame them? They're young and easily misguided innocent.
CKB Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 I dont think anyone is "panicking" - just pointing out things we need to change if we are to try and sustain a promotion push this season. And i'm sure Sven is on the case, have faith my man!
Guest MattP Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 And i'm sure Sven is on the case, have faith my man! I hope he is. But just because he might be I'm not going to sit there and say we are going up while Waghorn hoofs another set piece into the stands.
CKB Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 I hope he is. But just because he might be I'm not going to sit there and say we are going up while Waghorn hoofs another set piece into the stands. and while i'm confident i'm certainly not getting carried away....
bmt Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 I scrolled back from this last page expecting a 3 or 4 goal loss from the comments. What is everyones problem?! Got to love being a Leicester fan.
morris1234 Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 why all the complaints? havvent they qualified for europe?? and i guarantee if we won 6-0 there would still be people saying its only a pre season game and they must have gone easy on us!!
smudger63 Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 I can`t believe some of the stuff i`ve read on here. It was a pre season game, it`s all about getting some fitness, at the end of the day. Your never going to get the same kind of performance or intensity as in a league game, when it`s only a friendly. I actually thought it was a good work out, considering it was a friendly, and we competed well.
Tommy G Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 Sack Sven he's ****ing useless and those Thair boys can follow him out the door aswell, their hearts just aren't in it. How dare we not hammer a Europa/CL side in a friendly, outrageous. They should pack up and go home from Autria to save the hotel costs. I'm sending my season ticket back as soon as it drops on my doorstep. If we are going to have the same knee jerk bollocks after every league game IF we don't smash the back doors in of every team in this league then we may aswell shut foxestalk down as people will end up in the LRI with computer monitors attached to their heads after nutting it with ferocity after reading such mind boggling comments. Belt up with such idocity you retarded hounds.
Collymore Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 Waghorn should not be allowed to take free kicks. Abe looked decent.
Stuliasz Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 Just read this thread backwards to try and find the score. The comments on the last few pages lead me to believe we had been battered, instead I find we have held a team who were in the group stages of last season's Champions League team to a 0-0 draw. In pre-season. Either this is a mass wind-up or some people here really are pathetic and this will be a very miserable place to be if we aren't top all season.
MrSpaM Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 Nice to hear the 'Yuki Abe! Ole! Ole!" Why didnt anyone mention these chants already? it's a fantastic idea!
