The comments on the last few pages lead me to believe we had been battered, instead I find we have held a team who were in the group stages of last season's Champions League team to a 0-0 draw. In pre-season. Either this is a mass wind-up or some people here really are pathetic and this will be a very miserable place to be if we aren't top all season. Even then, they'll find something to moan about. "We're only 2 points clear... SVEN OUT!" etc.

I actually think performance is more important than the result pre season, its good to see if the players you have brought in are developing together. Of course its not a marker of how we will do next year, but there are still a couple of things you can pick up, (i/e one we all know anyway that we need a striker) This would be a pretty boring thread if we all just came on with.. "great result, brilliant Sven, thanks Top, we are going up" :sge: :sge: :sge: and so on....

However, it's become increasingly obvious that this forum is infested with a large number of complete and utter morons. If there's not large swathes of posters falling over themselves to moan about us signing Konchesky over Masilela (a player the vast majority have never even seen play) there's mass whinge on because we didn't win a pre-season friendly. Get a grip for Christ's sake. There's not even this much hysteria in Football Manager, which incidentally, appears to be the bible and an accurate yardstick with which to judge reality to many on here.

gerrytaggart Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 For a friendly that was decidedly unfriendly, The Turks were on a serious wind up and seemed to get under the skin of one or two players..these sort of games are as much a test of character as anything else. There were some good performances and some average performances but at the end of the day we kept a clean sheet against a quality side. People are moaning about the lack of fire power, but we all know that there will be additions in this department.... this type of result is just as misleading as Steve 'Oakley' Howard banging in 4 goals against very poor opposition, at least in terms of genuinely competitive football. But having said all that it just wouldn't be the same supporting Leicester without all the doom mongers...so keep up the good work. (its late and I cant even be bothered to re read the few lines I just wrote so I'm sure someone will point out any mistakes with this post, grammatical or otherwise.) night night.
21st Century Fox Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 I've just got back (about 2 hours ago) from a week in The Netherlands, I caught the PSV v Bursaspor friendly on TV last week. Anyone knocking this result needs to get their head checked and a grasp of football in general! They drew against a good PSV side after leading in the first half, they did seem an aggressive side even for a friendly and played some good football. If we can hold our own against teams like this especially at this stage of the PRE season we can't go far wrong. (I'm guessing most of the moaners haven't actually heard of Bursaspor before).

The manager is trying to sign a striker... So you this it's worthwhile moaning about the fact we need a striker?
