This is what concerns me. Although late Mills appeared on website the day he put pen to paper.Stringer said he had sighned but Tanner said not an LCFC player yet but will be! If it not quite done it is NOT complete, and the lack of official news makes one wonder if there has been a last minute hitch. It has clearly not progressed as fast as LCFC had hoped at the start of the week as i assume he was ths the player expected to join the team in Austria.

Leicester City have today (Friday) finalised an agreement with Ghanaian defender John Pantsil, who has signed a contract with the Foxes until 2014, subject to obtaining the necessary work permit.

Pantsil, 30, arrives at King Power Stadium after leaving Fulham at the end of his contract in June and becomes Sven-Goran Eriksson's eighth signing this summer.

A mainstay in the Ghana national team for a number of years, Pantsil has won nearly 70 caps for the Black Stars and has over 100 Premier League appearances to his name from spells with West Ham United and Fulham.

City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson said: "It's very good that a player of John's experience and quality wants to join us at Leicester City.

"He is another established Premier League footballer with a lot of caps at international level. He's very athletic, strong and I'm sure he will do very well for us.

"If we lacked experience in defence last season, we have certainly addressed that with the players we have brought in this summer, both from the Championship and the Premier League."

A player of considerable experience at the highest levels of the game, Berekum-born Pantsil began his footballing career in Ghana with spells at Berekum Arsenal and Liberty Professionals, before making his break in Europe.

He spent three years playing in Israel for Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv, before making the move to England when West Ham paid £1million to take him to Upton Park.

After two years with the Hammers, Pantsil moved across London to Fulham, who paid £1.5million to acquire his services in 2008. Pantsil made 91 appearances in all competitions during three years with the Cottagers and played every game during the club's run to the UEFA Europa League Final in 2010.

At international level, Pantsil is one of the most popular Ghanaian players of his generation, having represented the Black Stars at the last two World Cups and two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.

Pantsil will join up with his new team mates when they return from Austria early next week and could make his debut in the npower Challenge Cup match against Real Madrid at King Power Stadium on Saturday July 30.
