John Pantsil - joins on a 3-year contract

Another great signing, we all knew that the defence was dire last season and Sven has certainly addressed that problem.

I don't think Peltier should see this signing as anything other than Sven compiling a squad that should be there or thereabouts all season and hopefully title winners and Premiership bound!

We still need fresh striking options and it will be interesting to see who is on the way out cos i dont think we want a squad of 30+ players.

Dont think i've been so eager for the season to start for years! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Why are the club so slow to confirm? this has been on twitter for the past week, the past 2 days saying it's been done, one site has an interview with him and still nothing from us lol

I got a real strange feeling that the club will make some big announcements very soon about major signings i.e Maynard and co. I don't have any inside info, its just a gut feeling, Me thinks Sven is being a very sly fox, It's all gone very quite recently. Only time will tell

Maynard is miles away, we haven't even got close to having a bid accepted yet.

Some defenders will leave now for sure? :dunno:

Doubt it, both Neilson and Lamey are 'gone'. Don't think Berner will go. Had Morrison gone yet too?

Just found this. El Empty will be going into overdrive.

I quite like Pantsil to be fair, a good right-back who was key to Fulham's successes under Hodgson and has obviously played many times with Konchesky. That defence really is looking tight as a drum.

Hope we get an exciting forward (alongside a striker) eventually. Think the defence will be a lot better but the FBs might not be as full on attacking as Naughton/PVA.

To be honest I don't think this is a bad thing.. I like defenders who defend.. Give it to the attack minded players to attack.. Great signing again Sven... Still wanna see that sniffer up front though my man!

No I agree, we especially need a more solid backline if we want that extra push from play-off contenders to automatic. They'll still get forward obviously, apparently Peltier is attacking also, but maybe not as freely as last year. Just think to balance that we might need a bit more flair, looked a bit lost in terms of creativity against Bursaspor.

Not at all worried though. sge.png

Please remember Bursaspor were Champions League material last season - in Man U and Valencia's group. So we are unlikely to be overunning this type of opposition. It would be interesting to see how their fans felt about only drawing 0 - 0 with a second tier English side.

As Bert alluded to recently, Sean St Ledger can also play right-back

Edited to say that his name is actually spelt Paintsil, apparently. Hopefully it will be spelt correctly on his shirt.

He's on his second club since leaving us mate! lol

Kept thinking somehow he was only loaned to the clubs.. oh Wymeswold!

Anyone notice that we have the two Full Backs that helped Fulham to the UEFA Cup Final & 7th in the league.... Seems like we have a premier league back line.

Yes. I mentioned that in the Pantsil thread in the transfer talk area.

We now have a Premiership defence.

Konchesky Tunchev/St Ledger Mills Pantsil

And Bamba, don't forget Bamba!!

We have premiership full backs.

St Ledger, Mills, Bamba and Tunchev have never played in the premiership so cannot be considered premiership defenders!!

Mills probably will be, I have no doubt Tunch could of been, St Ledger quite simply isnt and Bamba got his arse handed to him by numerous championship strikers last year. :frusty:

according to the above link Leicester City signed Jon Pantsil on free transfer from Fulham.

this is an official link from the bbc website

however

according to sky sports news tv they are in advanced talks with Patsil and no deal has gone through yet

also on the LCFC official website it has no confirmation of the jon patsil transfer however i feel that the deal will go through in the next 24 hours

but it depends who you believe according to the bbc we have signed him but i tend to follow sky sports news alot and according to them we are in advanced talks.

im hoping we will sign him in the next day if the deal has yet to go through as i think this deal will complete our defence.

i would also like to know who people think the next two or three maybe as i saw the video on lcfc website where he claimed to be after 3 or 4 and pantsil is obvioulsy one of them.

just wanted your thoughts on the others i would like to see another striker or two and maybe one more cm. what do you think.
