B52 Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 Nearly 75% think we'll get promoted this season. Quite optimistic but in a positive way.

Wherethefoxhat? Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 As already said I cant see past west ham, big sam is a genius and signing nolan and now taylor along with existing players will be very strong, the rest is a scramble and think we can get 2nd and a ticket to promised land PREM HERE WE COME !!!!!!!!!!!!! "Big Sam is a genius " you say ????????? He's managed 7 clubs .......got the sack from 4 ,got relegated at another ....and has never won a bloody thing !!!!!! Do me a favour .....i would'nt swap him with Svengali for anything !! Put your money on The Foxes mate and keep the faith ......because this time you'll be rewarded big style !!!
cc_star Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 What with the new owners taking us over and all the various figures about how much we've had to spend being thrown around it was fairly obvious we would be one of the favourites for promotion. Its a big ask of these players, of which the majority has been brought in this pre-season, so unless we get off to a superb start their going to need time to gel together and learn to read each others games. I'd personally say that achceiving a play-off position would be tremendous, anything above that that would be heaven but realistically mid-table is where we should be aiming. I suspect it's promotion or marching orders. One of the most expensive managers in the country, given an almost free reign in the transfer market with the sole aim of 'get us promoted' and we should be aiming for mid-table?
dannythefox Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 If we get Maynard Yak or another top striker i can see us getting second with west ham in first place. If we don't get a striker then probably just get in the play offs.

Should'nt your user name be Mr Unhappy ???? Or maybe Mr Unambitious ???? Mid -table ????? Don't let Sven and the owners hear you ffs !!
Wherethefoxhat? Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 I did indeed. No way have these new players just been "thrown together " !!!!
Callabinho Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 You don't spent nearly £10million and say I'd be happy with mid table. However we still need improvements to our team most notably a prolific striker, due to the amount we have spent no promotion will be a failure to the owners.
topharry123 Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 We should be aiming much higher than mid table, that comment makes no sense. Think about it, would Chelsea or Man City have been aiming for mid table when they were taken over and given funds to spend? No they had to aim for the top to at least start to cover the costs. We need to do the same. We've made a loss at least the last 2 years and with the players we have bought without promotion that loss will be far greater. We need to aim for top 2. Top 6 will be acceptable if we go up, but anything less than promotion is a disappointment and a failure based on what we have spent and what we will spend.

Haydos Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 No way have these new players just been "thrown together " !!!! Did I not just explain myself? Fvck me. Might even stand by my original tongue in cheek phrasing actually. Yeah, 'thrown together'. We have 8 new players so far after all the loans that left at the end of last season. So yeah, they have been thrown together, it's not like they're being slowly blended.

Tell you something......if they havent started to "slowly blend", then Sven and the coaches are not doing their job !!

Right, you're just being pedantic. Roo summarised it perfectly. Large player turnover. It was just an observation. What are you even arguing, you don't seem to have a point.

foxes2011 Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 I think we'll finish 7th or 8th. erm yer i spose most of us leicester fans are being over ambitious but if you dont have high hopes at the start of the season theres no chance i think top 6 is fairly achievable you have 46 games in the season if you win 20 games that will probley get you playoffs i think we can manage that, that would be winning less than half of our games last season we won 19 games (with a weaker team, and a poor start, we also lost 17 , i expect more drews this year as we only drew 10 last season we were only 8 points of the play offs last season and finished on 67, i think we should be aiming for about 75-85 points (last seasons positions 2-6 if you want to win the league realistically you have to win at least 25 matches and because of west ham and birmingham this season your probley looking at 28-32 to be in contention for the league but id be happy with top 6 really which was about 75 points upward last season. :sge: erm yer i spose most of us leicester fans are being over ambitious but if you dont have high hopes at the start of the season theres no chance i think top 6 is fairly achievable you have 46 games in the season if you win 20 games that will probley get you playoffs i think we can manage that, that would be winning less than half of our games last season we won 19 games (with a weaker team, and a poor start, we also lost 17 , i expect more drews this year as we only drew 10 last season we were only 8 points of the play offs last season and finished on 67, i think we should be aiming for about 75-85 points (last seasons positions 2-6 if you want to win the league realistically you have to win at least 25 matches and because of west ham and birmingham this season your probley looking at 28-32 to be in contention for the league but id be happy with top 6 really which was about 75 points upward last season. :sge: http://www.englishfootball.info/championship/table/
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 I am going to say that our last home match against West Ham will be the decider who wins the title
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 2nd place is realistic... think Ipswich will be within a shout this year. cant see brum doing very well. West Ham will win the league

AmyLGK Posted 26 July 2011 Posted 26 July 2011 Oh god - the press are making way too much noise about us and therefor we're going to crash and burn and be completely humiliated!

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 26 July 2011 Posted 26 July 2011 West Ham, I think, will be the team to pip us, but I think Ipswich, and Leeds, will be right up there, come the end of the season Our defence looks far more balanced now, and I will be interested to see who will be joining, to bang those all important goals in. I visualize, a couple of proven scorers, will be on their way shortly. Position at end of season? Hmm. I will go for second, in a tight scrap. Outside team to watch. Brighton.
