How long can he hold this pressure for?

his shooting is woeful! All power and no accuracy!

Watch him in the warm-ups ... every shot goes blazing over!

I wanted it to work, we all wanted it to work but it doesn't look like its going to happen!

He had a hand in 3 of the goals last night. Set up gally's and won the ball to start the moves for the 2nd and 4th goals. Don't know why there are so many haters out there.

Im certainly not a hater... I simply don't believe that Sven has Waggy in his plans..maybe as a 'Squad' player..but thats it

How do you think a player must feel when they know they are being used to sweeten a deal for someone else coming in to replace them. Would you feel wanted?

The best thing for Waggy is to move on and start his career over in a team that want him to play week in week out

Col city fan you might be right about Sven and waggy. It was a similar thing with gradel and pearson. Shame really, does tend to cloud the judgement of people who agree with Sven though, e.g. yesterdays game, as I said he was a key player in 3 of the 4 goals.

Waggy looked great when he was here on loan and I was excited when we bought him but enough with the he's not had a chance brigade. He hasn't had much competition in the etriking department other than loanees brought in because our strikers haven't been good enough. He practices every week alongside the others and in front of the coaches. He's lost the goal touch and with that his confidence. He was poor yesterday and he crowned it off with a terrible miss that half of us could have put in. He still runs well but he hasn't got the natural ability to be in the right place at the right time.

I really hope we can loan him out - to Derby would be good - to see if he can recover but as it stands he is surplus to requirements.

hey mate you were there and I wasnt so I respect your report on Waggy... I don't think he's a bad player..but a player who knows he isnt an integral part of a manager's plans becomes, by definition, a 'bit-part' player.

I don't think Waggy sees himself as a 'bit-part' player.... Maxi certainly didn't under Pearson and Hobbs didnt think so under Sven.

Its just a fact of football really.... this doesn't make them any worse as players, but we all have a need to be wanted dont we...

I think we could really do with loaning him out.

He needs to get more chances and build his confidence back up, but we can't afford to give the time it will take to do that because of what we are pushing for.

The longer he sits here on the bench the worse it will get and the harder it will be for him to forge any kind of career here.

I really like him but as I said unless the best in him can be brought out I fear we will have to let go.

If we're not going to use him in an exchange deal then loaning him out seems to be the best idea. It's not like we're desperate for the funds from a transfer. While there is still a chance that he is actually a very good player we should keep him on the books. A year out on loan playing regularly will tell us what he's all about.

He showed on loan that he had the ability to be a reasonably good striker at this level, and in the latter months of that season he showed he could be effective down the middle of a 4-3-3/4-5-1 formation like we play now.

I think the reason he's doing poorly is because he's trying too hard to prove that he's worth the price we paid for him, if he were to relax and just concentrate on playing then he'd do better.

You could see he had the quality yesterday, great assist for Gallagher's goal. He looked like he lacked so much confidence and it was evident how frustrated he was getting. Think it would be best to loan him out now to get his confidence back and hopefully he'll come back a different player.

Went last night and watched Waggy closely - his work rate was second to none and as stated above he was involved in 2 of the goals

However, his confidence is completely shot in front of goal and he won't get enough game time for it to return

So sell or loan ?

Personally think he is worth giving another chance so I would loan him out to some Div 1 side where hopefully he'll score a hat full and return a different player - if Sven thought otherwise and sold him I wouldn't be too disappointed but I do think his positive attitude to working hard when things are not going well means he should have a second chance

One good delivery doesn't outweigh tens of skied freekicks and corners though. I'd rather see him go out on loan (I think) than perm but I definitely think he'll go on way or another.

ermmm id keep u never know when this lea will regain form or come in with a snappy goal like he did against bristol last season with a thunder bolt of a shot :D:scarf: , and plus it wouldnt really resolve our striking issue anyway

Fair enough use the loan system to give youth a chance or to get someone's fitness but I don't see the point of loaning out players who are at an age (21-22+) when they would be expected to be able to play regular 1st team football, unless we are trying to get rid. Can't think of many (any?) city pros well into their 20's who have left on loan but then come back and actually established themselves? If waggy follows n'guessan down the loan road then I don't see him coming back.

Go

go where , in the form he is in now , who is gonna want him , loan out seems to be the best option , i`m sure if an offer in the region of what city paid for him came in he would be gone , but unless his form picks up that aint gonna happen , i would love him to find his form , and maybe just maybe he will , :chant:

He has a lot of potential, there's no doubt about that. Give him game time and rebuild his confidence and he'll be getting there. He's proven he has some ability in the past.

No reason why he can't reach Maynard standard IMO

I recall Tony Cottee, well into his 30's, going on loan to Birmingham and coming back like a new striker!

unfotunatley, i have heard that he has sold his house and is now living in the marriott hotel near the motorway. so this could mean that he could be off???
