trebor Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 Will be in Leicester over the weekend, for the Reading game. Staying at The Sky Plaza. Need suggestions of a good place to eat. Pub grub, Indian, Chinese or anything else you can come up with.
Kent Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 While we're on this subject does anyone know the name of an Italian it's near Braunstone Gate I think on Narborough Road? Had a quality steak there once and want to go back at some point.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 TJ's, High Street. Chicken shish, chips, and Cherry 7Up. You won't find any better in Leicester.

Kent Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 Dolce Vita? Yeah looks like it mate. Is it as good as I remember?
danny. Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 Yeah looks like it mate. Is it as good as I remember? The food in there is amazing - real top class. Unfortunately the guy that runs it is a bit of an arrogant idiot and the service isn't great.
Blanesta Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 San Carlos on Granby Street, its an Italian and the food is top notch, very good service, I'd highly recommend it
Filbert's Friend Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 The Boot Room. Expensive though. But you get what you pay for.
danny. Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 San Carlos on Granby Street, its an Italian and the food is top notch, very good service, I'd highly recommend it I went there about 18 months ago - £50/head and the food was awful, really dry crab, soggy salad, burned bruschetta. Service was OK but not great - annoying they enforce a 10% tip as part of the bill instead of leaving that to the customer's digression. In town I'd recommend the case above champagne bar near st martins. Dhaka deli has amazing service and good indian food - on Narb road.
Guest ttfn Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 <Insert joke about mistaking what this thread was about here> - I'm sure that Soccerroo Fox will oblige.
Wymsey Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 A few good Indians on the Melton Road to say the least. Personal favourite is Feast India.
Maybes Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 Casa romana is a very good italian on albion st next to terrace. Never been disappointed.
MPH Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 chuffin Nora. I dont recognize half of the places mentioned.....
FoxesAreBlue Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 Big fan of San Carlos but only if I'm feeling flush or the company take us out for dinner - a good fillet steak with blue cheese - Mmmmmmm! Expensive but as you say, you get what you pay for
Soar Fox Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 If your around on Sunday and fancy a roast dinner I highly reccomend 1573 bar & grill. Probably the best roast dinner I've had.
Christoph Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 La tasca is pretty nice, ive always enjoyed it, if you put 20 quid each with two of you, you can get full of it easily. Can't go wrong with a chinese buffett at terracotta, affordable and enough variety around.

My ex girlfriend used to work at one of those and I haven't eaten at one since thanks to some of the things she told me!
kam6 Posted 9 August 2011 Posted 9 August 2011 Colourworks off Braunstone Gate and Maiyango in town near the subway by the gala casino are my favourite joints!

FazzaF Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Had a nice Burger and Chips outside the King Power at the Madrid game.
