Eating Out

Recommended Posts

Will be in Leicester over the weekend, for the Reading game. Staying at The Sky Plaza. Need suggestions of a good place to eat.

Pub grub, Indian, Chinese or anything else you can come up with.

While we're on this subject does anyone know the name of an Italian it's near Braunstone Gate I think on Narborough Road? Had a quality steak there once and want to go back at some point.

Yeah looks like it mate.

Is it as good as I remember?

The food in there is amazing - real top class.

Unfortunately the guy that runs it is a bit of an arrogant idiot and the service isn't great.

San Carlos on Granby Street, its an Italian and the food is top notch, very good service, I'd highly recommend itworship.gif

I went there about 18 months ago - £50/head and the food was awful, really dry crab, soggy salad, burned bruschetta. Service was OK but not great - annoying they enforce a 10% tip as part of the bill instead of leaving that to the customer's digression.

In town I'd recommend the case above champagne bar near st martins. Dhaka deli has amazing service and good indian food - on Narb road.

<Insert joke about mistaking what this thread was about here> - I'm sure that Soccerroo Fox will oblige.

Big fan of San Carlos but only if I'm feeling flush or the company take us out for dinner - a good fillet steak with blue cheese - Mmmmmmm! Expensive but as you say, you get what you pay for

La tasca is pretty nice, ive always enjoyed it, if you put 20 quid each with two of you, you can get full of it easily. Can't go wrong with a chinese buffett at terracotta, affordable and enough variety around.

My ex girlfriend used to work at one of those and I haven't eaten at one since thanks to some of the things she told me!

Colourworks off Braunstone Gate and Maiyango in town near the subway by the gala casino are my favourite joints!

If your around on Sunday and fancy a roast dinner I highly reccomend 1573 bar & grill. Probably the best roast dinner I've had.

It's one of the best steakhouses I've been to, best place I've eaten at in Leicester.
