I've noticed this tons... Hehe what do you young uns get taught at school these days? Is it all humanities and citizenship? Cos it ain't grammar!! Hehe
Rincewind Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Not just this forum. I've seen it all over the place from young and old. Thought it was an American spelling but no, us Brits do it too. Spell it right or be deported. (see General Chat UK Citizen test)

Guest shearfox Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Does this really deserve an article? Maybe people just mistype the word get over it.
Oasisedup Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Well said. Another one that winds me up is would/should/could OF instead of would/should/could HAVE. As in, " If we had scored more goals we would OF won." Wtf does that mean? It's " If we had scored more goals, we would HAVE won." We could OF won easily = We could HAVE won easily.
Guest Col city fan Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Does this really deserve an article? Maybe people just mistype the word get over it. Don't be boring! It's only a laff... Fooks sake
Babylon Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 I wonder if Rebecca Loos has any problems with it.

You lose kudos when you loosely interpret the thread categorisation to your own ends because this thread should be in General Chat not the Leicester City forum.....
The Padster Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Does this really deserve an article? Maybe people just mistype the word get over it. Then people should learn to proof read. I can deal with complicated words being misspelt, and even the vast majority of grammatical errors, nobody's perfect, but it isn't hard to go back and double check for simple errors is it. Edit; I am in no way responsible for any errors contained in this post
shade Posted 20 August 2011 Author Posted 20 August 2011 it just bugs me that's all, yes I don't bother with capital letters but that is because i'm amazing and choose not to. i'm not a grammar nazi but just can't believe people make such basic errors. also to and too, it's easy. i'm too good to bother explaining.
blueredswed Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Perhaps? We are many foreigner following Leicester Blue and you don´t will have us here let us know! I´m from Swden and sometimes I don´t get the words sooooo :scarf:

Spot on, the English, who can't speak or spell, their own language. :frusty:
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Does this really deserve an article? Maybe people just mistype the word get over it. That is atrocious, English. You have just stated, that people,, maybe just incorrectly type the word, "get over it" That is three words, and they have nothing to do with the subject. Go back to infant school. .

Fox92 Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 At the end of the day, does it really matter? As long as you get the general idea of the post.
Raw Dykes Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 While we're being grammar nazis, can people stop misusing the word "then" please? I keep noticing sentences like, "We were better then them." "He had more chances then him." It's THAN. Not just on this forum, it's all over the internet. I'd rather we played quick, short passes than just hoofing it down the pitch, then we might win more matches. Also, let's kill the phrase, "my bad". It doesn't make sense. It's, "my fault". Rant over
