There’s been an awful lot of money spent at Leicester City this season. The fans are jubilant that finally the club has some serious weight in the transfer market but is all this expenditure only a short term fix?

The problems will be far greater if we don't get to the PL, I'm sure if we do get there most of that £15 mill could put down as an interim loss and covered by the substantial rise in income not only for LCFC but for King Power.

For fooks sake! Course we're buying to get out of the Champ cuz that's the league we're in. Surely u can't build a team to be successful in the Prem until u get there?

Also, I would disagree and say that a number of our signings could be premier league quality. Danns, Nugent, Mills (when he regains his form). Negativity for the sake of negativity - pisses me right off.

sven has brought players in that in his mind are capable of getting us into the premier league, he hasnt exactly been able to bring in world class players to play in the championship, thus fit right into the premier if and when we get there.

Who cares? If they do get us there then isn't that the point? Last season we tried with the Premier League players on loan and it didn't work. This summer we tried again - better players admittedly - and few are prepared to make the drop down to this level.

Schmeichel - one of the best, if not the best keeper in the championship

Mills - one of the best centre backs last season

Bamba - has been better than mills so far

Pantsil - has several seasons of premier league football behind him

Konchesky - spent nearly his whole career in the prem

If this isn't a championship defence that is ready to give the premiership a go, then I honestly don't know what you expect from a championship squad.

More to the point, you could look at any promoted squad over the past few years, maybe Newcastle as an aside, and pick out players that aren't really going to be 'Premiership quality' but no championship side will ever be man for man premiership quality because it's not possible to do that.

It's about having a good championship squad with maybe a few key players who cope particularly well with the step up and prove the difference between staying up and going down. I'd argue that the likes of Schmeichel and Beckford could be those key players as they are both much more than adequate in this division. Plus, I think it's fair to assume that promotion would see us spend more money too.

Even though they're understandably desperate for us to go up, I'm sure Top and Aiwa....his dad, have considered the possibility that it might take the team time to gel and that it could be the season after. I think by making themselves well known to fans and by putting their money where their mouth is they are showing they are here for more than a year or two at least.

Saying that though, Kasper could play in the top flight, Konchesky and Pantsil have played a number of years in there although they might not again, despite his start Mills was wanted by Premiership teams, Fernandes has played there and done well and has played in a world cup.

When you spend money you are getting criticised, last year was we were signing too many loans and inexperienced players, if we brought lower league then we'd taking a risk etc

Don't want to sound flippant but with the increased revenue and the wealth of KingPower we'll be able to spend plenty of money rrplacing them. Equally if we dont go up we'll just need a couple of high quality additions and we should do well. IF we dont go up this league will be ours next year as the team will have gelled.

I think what you need to get out this division is Championship class. It's rarely teams full of Premier League cast offs that go up. I think the most obvious route is experienced, quality Championship players, and Schmeichel, Mills, Danns, Nugent and Beckford fit that bill in particular.
