huddfox Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 What the Man City fans said about Sven has hit us good and proper today NO BLAN B. the back 4 were poor today and at the end of the game I could not see any plus points. What I would like to say is that its not the type of football that I have paid good money to sit and watch, in fact I hate how they are playing now, the whole team seem to have lost a level of fitness that is needed in this league and I blame Sven and the way they play. Yes people were booing and why not if you pay your money you have the right but then the boo's changed to clapping. For gods sake stick to your convictions and let the team know how you feel. The times we had the ball and a chance to hit them on the break only for the game to come to a halt WHY WHY WHY, its a vey continental way we are playing and I hate it

Not that this will matter when you're doing time in Pentonville or Wormwood Scrubs..
Podge Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 FFS lay off the manager threads, give the side chance to gel. It's ridiculous on here tonight.

Mike the Metal Ed Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 Why did you suddenly realise £30 was too much AFTER the game?

Not that this will matter when you're doing time in Pentonville or Wormwood Scrubs.. Believe it or not when we play well, we do look absolute quality. That period against forest a few weeks ago with nugent and danns running their defence ragged is a prime example. We have the basics of a quality team and we will be given a bit more time. People just dont like looking at the bigger picture. Sven needs a chance and not people constantly calling for him to be sacked. Its ridiculous

He had years with England and constantly tinkered with tactics to the point where the players had no idea what plan A was, never mind B, C etc. Sven has had 11 years of winning nothing and he is not going to start at Leicester.
Corky Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 As I've said before, if Sven is going to play one up front then King should play as he's the best player for getting into the box from midfield. Beckford looked isolated and gave his all but with little support in the middle he's not going to be as effective as he would normally be. I do believe we will click and get up the table, I just hope it's soon.

He likes to play on the shoulder of the defenders and along side a partner, as he did with Becchio at Leeds, when he got shed loads of goals. Playing Beckford up front on his own, is a waste of his talent, if you ask me, but hey what do i know!

I agree, it's a shame Nugent is out because he could've taken the burden of running into the channels leaving Beckford in the middle. When Vassell was pushed into the middle we looked more threatening so hopefully Sven will see that two up front should be more effective.

Yep, hopefully when Nugent is fit, sven plays with 2 up front. I think the Beckford - Nugent partnership has a lot of promise, on paper at least, not least because Nugent is a very intelligent footballer too, which should really benefit Beckford, and the runs he makes..

Call me naive etc. but I genuinelly think that when we play properly in a 442 like Forest and Soton 1st halves that we will be near enough unplayable to most teams in this division. The signs are there but people are overlooking them massively.
Guest MattP Posted 11 September 2011 Posted 11 September 2011 "when we click" soon as fans start using that quote you know it's the beginning of the end....

gazfox9 Posted 11 September 2011 Posted 11 September 2011 I just can't understand some of the negativity on here. Granted, I didn't go to Barnsley yesterday, and it didn't sound too good. But people are going on like we lost. The start we've made hasn't been the best, but it certainly hasn't been the worst. Who realistically thought we would win the first five games on the bounce with a new squad?? I think a few fans should direct more energy into supporting the team than slating them and see where we actually are after 10/15 games.
Sedders17 Posted 11 September 2011 Posted 11 September 2011 I think what the majority are trying to say is with the amount of money we have spent and the players we have then we should be beating the likes of Barnsley. My frustration is that we play 451 and it clearly doesn't work. I'm surprised we didn't sign a big forward, If we had a young Howard type player then the ball would stick up top and give the defence some rest, having 1 up top just invites the ball to come straight back and adds pressure to the midfield/defence. Even when nugent is back I can't see where our back up is. Not the biggest Howard fan but surely u would put him on the bench?any way let's look forward to Brighton and hopefully 3points!
Fox92 Posted 11 September 2011 Posted 11 September 2011 If one more person moans about sven im going to kill someone. Its september and we are a lot better off than last season. Sven is building the foundations of a premier league club. Give him a sodding chance. I question his signings. He has signed to many midfielders and now plays a formation to accomodate players. If I was manager, I would have said, right, King and Wellens are my best two central midfielders, I now need a quality winger to replace Paul Gallagher who I do not rate at all. For example, Kebe, or Hammil. I question his ability not to have a plan B. When the fans were singing 442 to Sven at half time, Sven just shrugged his shoulders as if to say he cannot do anything to change it. We paid £30 for yesterdays poor performance. Do the players care? They'll probably be booking their next holiday to New York. So, after paying and travelling to Barnsley, we have a right to moan and question because its OUR club. We should be looking to beat teams like Barnsley if we want to go up, you know, Middlesbrough went there and scored 3, Southampton went to Barnsley, scored and saw the game out etc
Leicester_Loyal Posted 11 September 2011 Posted 11 September 2011 I agree, it's a shame Nugent is out because he could've taken the burden of running into the channels leaving Beckford in the middle. When Vassell was pushed into the middle we looked more threatening so hopefully Sven will see that two up front should be more effective. We've seen that in nearly every single one of our matches this year, but Sven hasn't yet realised.

Some of the most successful years in England's recent history, yet to be bettered since he left. Trophys are not an acceptable way of judging a manager; When was Roberto Martinez's last trophy? Roy Hodgson? Martin O'Neil? Does this mean these men are not good enough either?
