nothin2seehere Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 Watched the first episode in the double-header season opener, now waiting for my TiVo to buffer enough of the second so I can fast-forward the adverts. In a nutshell: a bit like Aliens, where families colonise a planet, in Terra Nova families are sent back in time to settle 85 million years BC. There are dinosaurs there. Anyway, I thought it was pretty good. It's done by Spielberg himself so it's got a bit of money behind it to make it spectacular. Jurassic Park on steroids, can't be bad
Dr The Singh Posted 4 October 2011 Posted 4 October 2011 Absolutely awful. I watched it, and thought it was boring, nothing new or original, it reminded me of that series done by the BBC, where earth was destroyed and ships landed on said planet!!! It may get better, so I have decided to record the whole series and watch it in one go, so I can fast forward through it, if it's still remains dull.
Alexikokopops Posted 4 October 2011 Posted 4 October 2011 I watched Jurassic Park in the cinema at the weekend. Nearly shat myself with excitement. It was brilliant.
purpleronnie Posted 4 October 2011 Posted 4 October 2011 Some of the acting/script was truly terrible.
goose2010 Posted 4 October 2011 Posted 4 October 2011 having watched the first epsiode i was wasnt really impressed but i will give it a go i think, its getting fantastic reviews in america so surely it must get better
somebum Posted 4 October 2011 Posted 4 October 2011 I watched this since it was on sky anytime. Only 2 minutes in and I was having my doubts; the really poor performance of acting and cheesy script didn't grab me by the bollocks. I think I lasted about 10 minutes but from what I saw, this is Speilberg at his very worst, I have seen better acting on Corrie and that is saying something. Absolutely abysmal.

Speilberg at his worst? Is it possible to get any worst than the horror show that was Indiana Jones 4?

I'm sorry but you cant judge something by watching ten minutes.
Rincewind Posted 4 October 2011 Posted 4 October 2011 When I saw the thread I thought Oh no not another to add to the 40 plus episodes of Fringe but after the comments so far I may not be missing much. If it comes up on catch up TV classics at a later date I may give it a go if there is nothing else to watch. Just thinking about Fringe I shall have to set up my Virgin box to record the wholle series 4. Never used that function before so I hope I have enough space. I thought series 4 started tonight but its wednesday. Set to record series just hope nothing clashes but I can record two at once. What are DVD's
nothin2seehere Posted 4 October 2011 Author Posted 4 October 2011 I think some of the feelings are a bit harsh, but one man's wine is another man's poison. Meh - to be fair I didn't watch the second episode (too tired) but I won't write anything off after just a few hours of viewing.

purpleronnie Posted 6 October 2011 Posted 6 October 2011 I liked the bit where some dude distracted the dinasuer by shouting , and just as the dino was about to eat him he was saved by some geezer on a buggy, great bit of dialogue too, as he jumped on the buggy he said in a calm voice 'well what are you waiting for' Yep...genius.
BoneDog Posted 6 October 2011 Posted 6 October 2011 Some of the acting/script was truly terrible. Ah, similar to that other Speilberg 'film/documentary' The Last Days then. Nothing changes!
21st Century Fox Posted 6 October 2011 Posted 6 October 2011 Apparently this series is estimated to cost £200,000 a minute!! They're screwed if no one watches it. Stephen Lang is pretty good though.
