Commentary & Atmosphere tonight

They didnt. It was 17,500 max, I don't know how they can announce this without chuckling.

First time I've seen the ground apart from midweek cup games tonight where I thought it was genuinely less than half full.

Seriously got to sort this pricing structure out. We need as many people in as we can.

I'm sure part of it is down to ST holders not showing up.

Yeah I agree, you can tell that by the amount of seats in the middle of the west stand that are empty that are actually owned by season ticket holders. They are definately adding a few on though, I mean Watford had 300 max.

The Kop was the busiest stand and that was a quarter empty.

One of the worst atmospheres I've heard.

Then again it's not surprising, the game was over by half-time, it's always dead on night games and Watford brought absolutely nothing, as usual. So how their commentators can slate our support lol look a bit closer to home.

Something has to be done to improve the atmosphere.

A more entertaining game would certainly help. People dont particularly want to part with £20+ to be bored.

We could have musical interludes everytime there is a free kick or corner for a start. We could all be dancing and singing just like they do in America. :chant:

* The above is just a bored piss take btw.

Not too sure what this attendance conspiracy is all about, why would the club lie about having more fans in? Saying that, the attendance was still poor IMO, the turn out from Watford was poor but they were only ever going to bring around 500. The tickets are simply too expensive, remember the Bristol City game last year? £20, ticket, pie and pint and they filled the place making for a cracking atmosphere. But what do we know.

I thought the atmosphere refelected the performance. Decent in the first half when we were playing well and aggressively, rubbish in the second when the game was a complete bore. Plus it's a midweek game and Watford brought 200 fans (I heard it was about 350 but I just don't believe it).

If our stadium has a reputation for being a 'library' then it's because it's a new stadium in the 'boring Midlands', no other reason. The people who say this obviosuly do not travel to many away games with their respective clubs.

Do you sit in l block? The lad next to me counted 357 watford fans

The atmosphere was crap. The game was done by half-time, virtually nothing to get excited about in the second 45.

I don't understand the club.

With 20'000 tickets sold, I've do tickets for a fiver to fill it a bit more. 5000 extra seat sales x £5 = £25'000 extra money + better atmosphere.

Bit of a shitter if you're a season ticket holder though. Sitting next to someone whos only paid a fiver and gets a free pie and a pint thown in.

On the way home last night i'm sure Stringer said on the radio that the club are always looking for ideas on how to get more in, well heres an idea.

How about normal price tickets, but a lucky random 500 will get the next game free or something like that. They could select winners from seat numbers or

ticket numbers.

One thing for sure there were never 20,000, in the stadium , not even close. why do they persist in this blatant lie about the attendance ? It fools no one and just makes us look silly. :dunno: :dunno: :dunno: :dunno:

Did you count every supporter there then?

And makes us look silly? To who?

And it was fcuking cold!!

You didn't have to have a abacus with you last night to know there was never 20,000 there. And silly to us the paying fans and away fans who else ?

Would need to be some abacus!

I've heard this a few times, but I'm fairly sure someone told me once that attendance figures are generated entirely by people passing through turnstiles and staff using counters at vip entrances.

May well be wrong but it seems ridiculous for the sum to just be "all season ticket holders + anyone who bought a match ticket = official attendance"...

Says a lot about the game/atmosphere if he's counted to that many. lol Fvcking hell.

Yeah, but you see - the new swipe cards cannot be checked and counted, since the required barcode reader is no longer produced.

So either they're making an estimated guess each match or simply count all ST holders in to make their job easier.

How many season tickets were sold, anyway? 15'000 to 18'000? So you get approximately 2'000 to 5'000 additional people who bought a single ticket for the match.

Sounds about logical to me.
