m00nie Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 My friend has a gold or platinum card at ladbrokes and he can bet what he likes as it comes straight out his account! they still have limits on what bets they accept... for a reality bet its low as insider information/rigging...
whitlock Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 well ive stuck £5 on mark hughes @ 8/1 We're man city's hand me downs
dannythefox Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 they still have limits on what bets they accept... for a reality bet its low as insider information/rigging... Not sure of the limit but he had 18,000 on Kauto star and Denman in a reverse forcast a couple of years ago and it came in!
m00nie Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Not sure of the limit but he had 18,000 on Kauto star and Denman in a reverse forcast a couple of years ago and it came in! which isnt a reality bet is it.. people can know who the next manager is and abuse the situation..
Guest MattP Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Just been down Coral in Lutterworth, guy who works on the counter confirmed that £100k bet on MON yesterday evening. Absolute bullshit. They had to ring through to head office when I wanted £500 on Paraguay to beat Ecuador.
foxsake123 Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 i put £2.50 on him at 6/4 earlier the instant the prices were online. i ran to hills and got it. had a punt on hughes, curbishley and worthington too. to win £3.75 why?????
foxsake123 Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 that contradicts what we have found out so far then, there is a limit on a reality bet stake allowed and 100k is wayyyyyy over the limit.. was trying last night and the max pay out could get was £3200 on a 160/1 long shot.. favourites @ 1/2 were only allowing £500 bet... Actually you could put £100k on but there will be a max payout limit. So any normal gambler would only bet the maximum possible to achieve the full payout. Which makes it sound as if this is all bollox
whitlock Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 MON didn't want us before Sven so no idea what has changed now.
Guest MattP Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Not sure of the limit but he had 18,000 on Kauto star and Denman in a reverse forcast a couple of years ago and it came in! You had £36,000 on a forcast bet? Can I be your bookie?
Yojoe36 Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 i put £2.50 on him at 6/4 earlier the instant the prices were online. i ran to hills and got it. had a punt on hughes, curbishley and worthington too. what's the point? £2.50
BIEREDeLuxe Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Could it all be a ruse to get your money on MON I wonder?
Guest Bilo Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Those saying they tried to put £500/£100/£750 on similar markets are missing the point. If you hold an account and have a history of making huge bets, you're far more likely to get £100k on a given market accepted than an ordinary bod placing a couple of bags out of the blue on the same market. When I worked in bookies and asked for permission to take a large bet from head office, they always asked if they regularly bet in large amounts. If you bet £5 a day and suddenly wanted £2000 on a market, questions would be asked. There are people out there who gamble for a living and this kind of bet might not have been unusual if he/she was a professional punter. Bookies will bend the rules for this kind of punter because they know they're excellent customers. It's unlikely they'd have walked into a shop and handed over a carrier bag full of money to the cashier out of the blue.
l444ry Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 MON didn't want us before Sven so no idea what has changed now. Mandaric no longer at the club. The Thais have firmly proved their commitment. Martin has had another year out of football since then.
Guest Bilo Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Mandaric no longer at the club. The Thais have firmly proved their commitment. Martin has had another year out of football since then. All of the above. Plus he turned down the chance to manage his country recently because he wants to get back into club management.

BIEREDeLuxe Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 But would a person who gambled for a living actually put £100k on the next Leicester manager unless they had some info pointing to that outcome actually happening? I'm telling you NO bookie would take a 100k bet on on a scenario like this, it's just nonsense. And also why wouldn't they have placed the 100k with one of the myriad of other bookies offering better odds? Something not adding up here.....

BIEREDeLuxe Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Still a rumour though, nothing is officially confirmed?????? It's definitely only a rumour, the interesting bit would be finding out who started it. It could actually mean MON definitely isn't coming but that's all I'll say on that.

And also why wouldn't they have placed the 100k with one of the myriad of other bookies offering better odds? Something not adding up here..... The other bookies could be offering better odds NOW because Will Hill have a fvck-off liability on the market and don't want it to be any bigger. Here's the list of odds as I type: Bet365: 11/8 SkyBet: 6/5 BetFred: 11/10 Victor Chandler: 5/4 Paddy Power: 5/4 Stan James: 11/8 Ladbrokes: 11/10 Bodog: 6/5 Unibet: Evens Will Hiil: 1/4 Now I'm sure you'll agree that Hills' prohibitively skinny odds stand out like a hard-on in a nursery. Why would they have such crap odds compared to everyone else? Answer: They've a fvck off liability and want to discourage any further wagers.
whoareyaaa Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 One way or another its ethier going to be O'Neill or Mark Hughes simple as that.
BIEREDeLuxe Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 I'm not convinced there's enough money going on this market for next manager to require a bet of 100k to freak a bookie out of their minds. A single bet of a grand could do it.

If anyone wanted to do this he would be a professional gambler and as such probably break the 100k down and spread the money around with different bookies and use firends/family to place bets for him. And even then we are talking bets of £5k each?? and that too wold raise eyebrows. i reiterate that this post smells of b u l l shit. If on the other hand it was 'insider information' the police would be called.

Not to mention Graham "Jackanory" Sharpe still works there doesnt he? They might have a bit liability yes, but I have never met a bookmaker who would take anywhere a £100,000 bet on a managerial market, even more so after Redknapps big sting when he went back to Portsmouth. Hill werent even the biggest price yesterday by a long way, Laddies whack MON up at 7/2 early doors.
whoareyaaa Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Im sure people who are professional gamblers speically who have been doing it for years would be able to place a bet off 100k on this market, these people wouldnt ring up the local customer service centre they will have direct numbers. Once that bet was in then maybe they can close off any other big money bets, knowing ethier way they will win.
Guest Bilo Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Of course the other possibility is that the message has been lost in translation and £100k worth of betS have been placed sparking the price plunge. There is one heck of a difference between 1/4 and 11/8, and I find it difficult to believe that Hills would allow themselves to be so uncompetitive without good reason.
