Saxondale Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Still really can't see it - some loaded goof has lost £100,000 tonight IMO. Loving the term 'loaded goof'!
dannythefox Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 You had £36,000 on a forcast bet? Can I be your bookie? Not me i wish! A bloke i no who was always in the bookies he now owns Gainsborough Trinity!
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 From what someone has told me, O'Neil will be the Leicester manager in the next few days. Don't have to believe me if you don't want to just saying what I've been told

BIEREDeLuxe Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 100k my arse! Straight from the horse's mouth: http://www.williamhill.com/en/nui/free-bet/#http://sports.williamhill.com/bet/EN/addtoslip?action=BuildSlip&sel=106628466&price=y&ew=n&url=/betting/http://sports.williamhill.com/bet/en-gb/betting/e/2462163/Next-Permanent-Leicester-Manager £2.5k says O’Neill is going back to Leicester!William Hill have slashed the odds of Martin O'Neill becoming the next manager of Leicester following a Liverpool punter backing him to get the gig to the tune of £2500. O'Neill is far and away the most likely candidate to get the job with Hills making him 1/4 from 2/5. His next closest rival in the betting is Mark Hughes at 3/1. "Almost all of the early money has been for O'Neill to return to his spiritual home and this bet has been the culmination of a 24 hour mega gamble," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly. Leicester Next Boss: 1/4 Martin O'Neill; 3/1 Mark Hughes; 8/1 Lee Clark; 9/1 Rafael Benitez; 10/1 Billy Davies; 20/1 Roy Keane; 20/1 Simon Grayson; 20/1 Mark Robins; 20/1 Ole Gunnar Solksjaer; 20/1 Ian Holloway; 20/1 Dave Jones; 20/1 Alan Shearer; 20/1 Avram Grant; 20/1 Gianfranco Zola; 20/1 Carlo Ancelotti; 20/1 Alan Curbishley; 20/1 Didier Deschamps; 20/1 Nigel Worthington; 25/1 BAR Not again??
DB11 Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Absolute bullshit. They had to ring through to head office when I wanted £500 on Paraguay to beat Ecuador. Did you win? And how much?
Ali_Mauchlens_Tash Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 As an ex bookie manager I would be incredibly surprised if any major bookie would take that sort of bet on a market with little liquidity in it.....especially on this sort of market where inside info is possible. If anything a 100,000 total liability is more likely.
BIEREDeLuxe Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 It was 2.5k, as per WillHill and my earlier post.
Guest MattP Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Did you win? And how much? 2007-11-18 Paraguay Ecuador 5-1 Can't remember how much to be honest, think it was 8/11 which was stand out, so £863 back. I remember I couldnt afford to lose it at the time. I used to follow South American football very closely, it was easy money.
Saxondale Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 The other bookies could be offering better odds NOW because Will Hill have a fvck-off liability on the market and don't want it to be any bigger. Here's the list of odds as I type: Bet365: 11/8 SkyBet: 6/5 BetFred: 11/10 Victor Chandler: 5/4 Paddy Power: 5/4 Stan James: 11/8 Ladbrokes: 11/10 Bodog: 6/5 Unibet: Evens Will Hiil: 1/4 Now I'm sure you'll agree that Hills' prohibitively skinny odds stand out like a hard-on in a nursery. Why would they have such crap odds compared to everyone else? Answer: They've a fvck off liability and want to discourage any further wagers. I agree. If it's an actual dead cert and they had real intelligence (which is unlikely) they'd suspend betting on it anyway surely?

whoareyaaa Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Odds have just dropped to 6/4 from 6/5 porbally said NO It looks like it may be Hughes, dont know what to say if its him.. not my cup of tea but could probally get us out the league.

I think that's true. After that it's anyone's guess because Hughes would then be poached by one of the Big 6 I feel. He's nothing if not ambitious.... edit: sky bet odds: MON 6/4 Hughes 7/4
whoareyaaa Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Yea I agree.. even Billy D's odds have come down to 5/1. this cant go on much longer until someone speaks.
BIEREDeLuxe Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Looking at the odds throughout the day there's absolutely no question that more money has gone on Hughes today than anyone else, including MON. I think the bookies expect an announcement tomorrow hence last minute jostling/juggling to make hay whilst the sun shines.
BURBAGE?FORFOXSAKE Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 i will be amazed if its not sparky.not my cup of tea but at least he knows all our man city exs.
adam1 Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Someone told me today that they heard Hughes is in line for the job. The usual shaky sources but it is probably the 'rumour' that has accounted for people putting money on.
sdb Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Cockles. The big cock. I'd take Hughes definitely. Bit of an idiot but potentially excellent manager. OBviously MON would be great.
Saxondale Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 This was all bollocks. It was £2,500. See below. http://news.williamhill.com/a/football/2.5k-says-oneill-is-going-back-to-leicester/
Jordan Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 I'm not putting any stock in that bit of news (unless said punter from Liverpool is Wayne Rooney, Sr., in which case, he may know a little something we don't).
