People say there was a meeting, that he said he wasnt interested, that there is a shortlist... Its all hearsay until I they annouce who it will really be and until then I will still keep a tiny little glimmer of hope that MON will be back...

Apart from numerous newspaper articles saying he isn't? If he was coming, don't you think there would be strong rumours saying he is by now? I doubt we would have heard this little info if it was him they were appointing. Everyone is looking for clues about him more than anyone, and still very little rumours.

I think you, like myself and many others are realistic in that it is only a slim hope, but whilst there still is hope there's nowt wrong with thinking positively. I certainly make no apologies for it but the pessimists (or realists?) are entitled to their opinion, irritating as they may be.

Quite a few did. The Mirror reported yesterday (or the day before) that it was pretty much signed and sealed.

Chill out, no one's stopping you from hoping. Somebody asked if anything had changed in the last 24 pages - I said no, which is true. I also said people still think he's coming when he's still not coming. This is my opinion, my gut feeling. If by next week I've got egg on my face then so be it, but if I'm right it will soften the disappointed when desperately hoping and believing would make it harder to take.

A more pressing concern than whether it could be MON is whether it could be someone like Keane. I'd be more than happy with NP or Hughes, i'd even take the dour Scot wee Billy.
