I may be a mug but i'm not giving up hope just yet. how do we know he didnt?? we never got to hear the actual call for some unkown reason... maybe hes been told not to say anything. maybe fed up of saying.. to me seems way to obvious hes not coming... we wouldnt be interviewing the likes of clark.. linking to the likes of np etc if mon was ever still a possibilty

I didn't say you are a mug and you are entitled to have as much hope as you want. As somebody said earlier, he rpobably denied interest to avoid offending us.

I believe MON has spoken to the owners and is playing hard to get. In the meantime, the Thais have to try to earmark other possibilities whilst clinging on to the hope they can persuade MON to join. That's my optimistic belief anyway.

Kitchandro doesn't know anything more about it than the rest of us - he's just being pessimistic. I'd be happy if we ended up with any of the names you mentioned, except Keane. I'd be properly hacked off if the job goes to that useless thug tw@. I'd say I'm being realistic. People are using the slightest thing to use as evidence that he could be coming back. I don't like this attitude some people have 'I'm going to be really deflated/boycott the club if it's not MON'. For Christ's sake people why get so worked up that you'd do something like that, when you know deep down it's very unlikely that he'll return? I don't want people to give up if it's Hughes. If it's Keane I admit I'll be gutted but there are plenty of candidates who deserve our support, and I'll still go even if it is Keane.

It's more 'offensive' to be all mysterious and say nowt if he has zero intention of coming back.

He must have been asked the question by many different media outlets about the job, if he had no interest at all he would have come out and said so, just to stop being pestered about it as much as anything else. At least i'd like to think so.

( now whether it was the club asking him not to say anything to keep the other candidates happy, whether he chose not to say anything who knows) other candidates/cvs talked about. short list drawn up of whos applied, shortlist drawn up of whos not applied but of interest. clark heads list. has interiview paprs here the story and goes to print.. something happens either our end or theres. deals off.. back to others on list, who else would be of interest (enter np)
