Corky Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 If they are the ones in the frame I hope that we get Davies. Not convinced by Jones and Dowie, don't even go there.
I am Rod Hull Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 I love O'Neill,But the risk of him failing is quite high.I'd rather he'd be remembered at this football club for what he did in the past. Imagine what it would be like if he did return... It would send the fans crazy with excitement, a renewed fervor and sense of unity again... (He wont come back anyhows)
Schlupp Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Based on? The money,In the older days it was easier we just wanted to be a mid table team,Who knows how much ambition the owners have?Although I love O'Neill I just can see this one ending in tears quite frankley.
Kitchandro Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 I love O'Neill,But the risk of him failing is quite high.I'd rather he'd be remembered at this football club for what he did in the past. Is it? He'll have more time and more money than he did in the season he took us up. And tell me, apart from Norwich where he spent only 6 months, where has he failed to do a really impressive job? I don't know why I'm even discussing this, he's not coming.
seenitall Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Billy Davies instead of Sven and some of you are actually happy - i want to cry
Salieri Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 The money,In the older days it was easier we just wanted to be a mid table team,Who knows how much ambition the owners have?Although I love O'Neill I just can see this one ending in tears quite frankley. We have to have the money and the ambition or O'Neill wouldn't touch us anyway. The only way he will come is if he has the assurances that we have the kind of money needed to take us not just up to the Prem but up towards the top 6. Sounds ridiculous now, but there's no way he'd join a club that didn't have the tools and the ambition to achieve just that. I also have an underlying fear that he'd join us and it would end in tears but that's not enough to stop me desperately wanting him to return. Not that it will happen.
Libertine Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Billy Davies instead of Sven and some of you are actually happy - i want to cry Plenty of people are disappointed Sven is gone, myself included. But everyone would rather have results than a big name, surely? Davies knows this division far better than Sven.
Salieri Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Billy Davies instead of Sven and some of you are actually happy - i want to cry I missed the fallout of Svens sacking as I was away, but surely the number of people rejoicing were in the minority? As for being happy about Davies, he's got a very good track record at this level and of the names being bandied about so far he seems the best of a bad bunch. I don't think many of us can be really happy about what has transpired in the last few days.
I am Rod Hull Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Billy Davies instead of Sven and some of you are actually happy - i want to cry SVEN IS A NAME, and not a person to get us out of this division.... Wake up.... Billy is a better man for the job in hand....
Corky Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Billy Davies instead of Sven and some of you are actually happy - i want to cry I'm not particularly, but Sven has gone and we need to move on.
GH1 Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Need Billy Davies. Fvcking Dowie, you must be joking, that's the kind of appointment we'd have made in 2005. Absolute second-rate journeyman. Oh my god never thought I'd hear that, we are in a mess. Swap Sven off billy Davies, that's a joke

Don't get me wrong it'd be a great appointment and I'd love it,But I don't want to risk his reputation being tarnished by the upcoming generation.
Finchy Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Oh my god never thought I'd hear that, we are in a mess. Swap Sven off billy Davies, that's a joke Billy Davies finished above Sven last season in the league. It's really not that mad. I loved Sven, but even I was getting the impression he didn't have a clue about this league.
JoJo1981 Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 I love O'Neill,But the risk of him failing is quite high.I'd rather he'd be remembered at this football club for what he did in the past. How'd you figure that one out? I think he's the Manager who is most likely to suceed!
Schlupp Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 How'd you figure that one out? I think he's the Manager who is most likely to suceed! I just have a gut feeling.
BlueSi13 Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 So. If you read between the lines over the last few days it seems the owners thought we'd be able to take our pick from managers like O'Neill, Hughes, Benitez, Ancelotti etc but after receiving no applications/been rejected by that group, we end up having to choose from Davies or Jones....which to be fair is about right for a mid-table Championship club. Sure sacking Eriksson was the right call now with hindsight Aiyawatt?
I am Rod Hull Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Oh my god never thought I'd hear that, we are in a mess. Swap Sven off billy Davies, that's a joke Why is it a joke ? WTF as Sven done since Inter ? Bollox all, thats what..... The fookin Sky Sports generation seriously fook me off.....
BlueSi13 Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Why is it a joke ? WTF as Sven done since Inter ? Bollox all, thats what..... The fookin Sky Sports generation seriously fook me off..... To be fair mate, even if Sven never wins a thing for the remainder of his career, he has achieved more than Davies ever will. I think thats the point people are trying to make.

JoJo1981 Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 I just have a gut feeling. I'll love him no matter what! Obviously im not bias at all!,,
ian the fox Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Davies - very good appointment. Jones - good appointment. Dowie - ****ing dreaful appointment. Agree entirely , Ian Dowie , sacks players by text FFS............
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Apparently, Billy Davis never sleeps
Chap84 Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 All of them have only 'applied' doesn't mean they will be even interviewed or given the job! It will be none of them I'm sure.
I am Rod Hull Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Sven was never at Inter. *Lazio...
