TG-WHU Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 from where? the segregation is a good distance and the stand above is full of little kids...
accessory Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 Hello all, Hammer here, unlucky yesterday, second half you really could have gone on to get a point. However i have to argue all your claims of Rob green being OTT. You are football fans, you all booed him, give a little abuse (the usual)...but lobbing a coin because he made a clanger in the world cup? get over yourselves! if you can give it, and throw coins and cant take it, because he gives a little back after a win then it shows how two bob your lot are. Always thought you had a good fan base but you really made yourselves out to be proper muggy yesterday. He will not be the last player to take abuse from fans and give some back after a win...its called banter! He didnt exactly lob a coin did he, just give it some for winning the match.. With a crowd as quiet as yours yesterday, you're in no position to be giving it large on here to us. And if there is ever a time when you sink as low as 14th in this league, I very much doubt you'd be taking 300 to a game anywhere, let alone 3000.
I am Rod Hull Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 Good reply, are we in 1983 or something? Thanks... Dont judge Leicester on a handful of fans and i wont judge you lot on what used to happen 20/30 years ago.

We have sold out every away match this year and its nailed on we would if we were as "low as 14th". We have sold out many a game in relegation battles up north, pointless league cup games on a tuesday night on tele, i dont understand how you can be in a position to mug our support off. Selling out for an away game with us is good, though it didnt look quite sold out to be fair..and i very much doubt it was 3000, more like 2000...2,500 tops
WardyisPukka Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 Anyone know how serious Vassell injury is? Stowell interview said his knee! sounds serious!! workrate will be missed if its his cruciate
Corky Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 Green wouldn't have done his celebration if you'd won 4-0, he was just relieved to see through a game you should wrapped up well before half-time.

What are your thoughts on moving to a new massive ground with no soul ?
spirefox Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 I'm not blaming St Ledger for our defeat yesterday, but their third goal really was the killer and totally against the run of play, compounding his woeful marking of Henderson for his third goal last week.I know Mills will be back at Burnley, but Bamba has 4 booknigs ,so is likely to be banned soon,so surely Tunchev's return from loan at Palace couldn't be better timed,if he is fit.I haven't seen him in their squad for the last two games though.so don't know whether he's sound or not.
OzFox Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 We`ll get a bigger allocation when you move to the Olympic stadium.. What are your thoughts on moving to a new massive ground with no soul ? Would be a real shame if they left Upton Park. Used to go to a few matches there back in the 80s. Always a cracking atmosphere
Guest ttfn Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 It was nice just to score a goal away from home. I've only been to Coventry, Forest, Birmingham and yesterday away from home, but I really was pitying those who had seen about six and a half hours of away football go past without a goal (half of Barnsley, Cardiff, Boro, Birmingham and an hour yesterday).
Leicesterpool Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 There quite a few players in the team yesterday that looked comfortable in there positions Konchesky: Poor first half, strong second. His first touch is poor Bamba: Now & again his first touch is sloppy but makes some important tackles St Ledger: Yesterday was his best performance of the season, looked confident. Played steady, controlled the ball well Nugent: Made some great passing, but hardly had a shot a goal Beckford: Didn't seem interested! Vassell: Shame he went off made some great crosses & runs into the box Dyer: Looked good as usual like Vassell made some good runs into the box Howard: Game on as usual & raised the came didn't see much of him. Make some more reports later, go to eat my dinner.
marbelladave Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 In line with my rant last week, I did not go yesterday despite being (relatively) local, neither did I listen to Stringer. Reading through the threads and a few 'non partisan' reports, it seened pretty much business as usual..... Crap team selection and setup. Defence remains totally disorganised. Midfield devoid of purpose, or pace, or creativity, devoid of everything really. Most of our players could not be arsed, a few were embarrased enough to have a go second half. Neutral reports suggest that our 'fightback' in the second half was as much to do with West Ham easing up as much as anything we did. The fact that it appears that introducing Dyer and Howard made us a better side leaves me in despair. I was hoping that Stowell and Rudkin would make an impression on our play somewhere, but it appears not to be the case, same old rubish. As I said last week I have no intention of going until I can see that some real changes are being made, currently we are a complete shambles on the pitch and if we do not get this management issue sorted soon, most probably off it as well. Some of our fans seem to think that our performance in the the second half showed some promise, some were even impressed, nothing I have read outside this board suggests this to be the case, so perhaps some of you who did go yesterday could take five minutes to put me straight?
Lcfc_k133 Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 I like the idea of sticking beckford in the reserves for a while seems to have no desire at all, all I kept hearing on commentary during the first half was "and Beckford doesnt jump for his header". I was really looking forward to the potentially deadly top two of Beckford and Nugent, however while Nuge will run all day, beckford seems to want all of the work done for him and chances to be delivered on a plate. Howard seemed to win everything in the air and take the pressure off the defence when he came on causing all kinds of trouble as he did vs Derby. You also know that if you played Schlupp you will get 100%

Dave, we are all entitled to our opinions and for the record your understanding of yesterdays game is somewhat wide of the mark but in all honesty I for one can't enter dialogue with a so called supporter who quote "have no intention of going until I can see that some real changes are being made". Like I said we are all entitled to our view but if we all adopted your attititude there would be nobody at the game on Tuesday night or possibly next Sunday come to that.

Agreed, although the midfield didn't protect them enough in the first half. Final ball was lacking badly in the first half despite getting into promising positions. Didn't make nearly enough of the several free-kicks we had in their half. I thought they tried, they weren't good enough in the first half. It was a few players who made us look more threatening after half-time. Possibly, but that was understandable. We did look better after half-time and we were winning 50/50 balls whereas in the first we were losing them. I tend to agree, Howard is not the answer long-term, he made their defenders think which they hadn't done previously, but he's not going to solve our problems. Dyer could be useful when starting, his pace is an asset although his final ball is lacking.
Tommeh Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 West Ham have always had one of the best away supports in the league. Remember them taking 7,000 to Wigan last year. Yep. Along with Leeds by far the best asay support in our league and easily in the top 8 in the country. Top ground, great weekend away just a tad unfortunate to lose. Stevie Howard yet again showing why he's one of our most vital players. Understand West Ham fans point on Greens actions too, we gave him one Hell of a grilling, he dished it back and fair play we should be able to take it. Was furious at the time however!

What we expect always never going to change, that is why I hope we are able to get a winger with pace who can deliver quality crosses, their surely must be someone out their that fits this bill, i.e from lower leagues, prem youngster, or even abroad.

Corky Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 derr was that this league or the Premiership They would still take thousands away even if they were struggling in this league.
foxaholic Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 Claridge was again very honest tonight about Sven.. That he was never convinced about his appointment and that he 'wasn't surprised' things have turned out how they have.. This didn't seem to be said with any axe to grind.. Just came across as this was what he thought Why do people keep saying Martin Allen wasnt good enough the 2 games I saw a 2-2 at Cyrstal Palace and a 4-1 win over Watford were excellent performances and his only other game was a unlucky defeat against Blackpool but he always gets listed with the real failures .
