Ric Flair Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Jones > Pearson. He's achieved far more in his career than Pearson ever will. Without the smear campaign, Jones would still be a Premier manager. Based on what? He was doing alright with Southampton but he's not had any pedigree of doing well in the PL other than that. Wolves were as bad as we were under Micky Adams whose nowhere to be seen these days and he's had a Keegan-esque meltdown during several failed attempts at promotion with Cardiff. I'm not saying Jones doesn't deserve some respect for getting his teams in and around the play-offs but if all Pearson needs to do in his career is what Jones has done then I don't think he'll feel to overwhelmed.
Burmesefox Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Its not the fact i dont want pearson back its the fact that this smacks of desperation and to be honest a waste of nearly 2 years , as in why did the thais let pearson go in the 1st place? why was he not a good manager then and now all of sudden he is now? I would be surprised if he told hull i want to go bk ! but hey money talks why backward step? We achieved more with NP than since he has left so it's forwards - we have moved backwards since his departure. BTW - he's most likely signing today - we'll know more in a couple of mins according to the radio.

They cannot be held accountable for that and they shouldn't take this in to consideration when appointing a new manager. Should Liverpool have not appointed Dalglish last season because a previous regime allowed him to walk out on them 20 years ago? 2) So just because we've failed in our goals in the past 16 months, we shouldn't swallow our pride and look at what's gone wrong and how to rectify it? As I have just said, this is a new regime to when Pearson was here. This isn't like when Portsmouth re-appointed Redknapp, which incidently turned out very well.
artursteppe Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Pearson back is a sign of the times. Young Leicester fans in awe of the man says it all. I have been a supporter at the time Alan Clarke was the record signing in the country, and when Brian Clough wanted to break the record to buy Keith Weller. When we regularly got to FA cup finals, when we won League Cups and got into Europe, when we had England Internationals in the team, when we went to Old Trafford and Anfield and won. I want someone better than Nigel Pearson. I miss those times when we were good, and exciting and worth seeing and I want them back. I do not want average anymore. I want better players in the team than Wellens, Gallagher, King and Howard. I want more!!!!!!!
Burmesefox Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Hull spokesman said Pearson IS signing for City! Artursteppe - I too want everything you do and have ben a supporter since 1980 - I've seen good and bad times and Pearson's season in league one was one of the very very best I can remember. Pearson is a good manager and more than capable of taking us up.
Libertine Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Cheers. Rosenior can sod off, Pelts is class. We'll have Brady though, good young winger which we desperately need.

I want better players in the team than Wellens, Gallagher, King and Howard. I want more!!!!!!! We all want more mate, but after years of false hope and expectation it's far more beneficial to be more realistic. I first started supporting us in 1991 under Brian Little and it took me 13 years to experience my first season where we weren't either challenging for promotion or in the Premiership. I was blessed with some great years and a few bad years but on the whole I was priveledged to support a team like Leicester. You have experienced even better years, but a lot of our fans haven't. Do we keep demanding more when deep down we have no divine right to be where we think we should? Or do we acknowledge and respect a manager who took us from the lowest point we've ever been as a club and within 2 seasons had nearly gotten us to a place where we'd not even sniffed at for 5 years? Pearson deserves credit for what he did and has earnt the right at another crack with us because take him out of the equation and we've been garbage for nearly 8 seasons now. Now that is unacceptable and we deserve better than that.
ElliottsLeftPeg Posted 7 November 2011 Author Posted 7 November 2011 Cheers. Rosenior can sod off, Pelts is class. We'll have Brady though, good young winger which we desperately need. You will have to ask Man Utd about Brady, we only have him on loan until January. Hes very raw, seems to want to beat his marker 3 or 4 times before crossing. Cameron Stewart is the better of our 2 wingers, but just back from long term injury.
Jimmy Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Just bring Fryatt back Nige. don't even suggest that

Bit over-the-top isn't it?

Err they sounded it out that they didnt fancy pearson and wanted a more attractive name and sexier football!! and thats why sousa was there for the cardiff home leg wasnt he? Im not saying we shouldnt swallow our pride, im saying why didnt the thais give pearson a new contract ?????
leicesterisme Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Jones > Pearson. He's achieved far more in his career than Pearson ever will. Without the smear campaign, Jones would still be a Premier manager. Like consistently failing at Cardiff year after year?

Im not saying we shouldnt swallow our pride, im saying why didnt the thais give pearson a new contract ????? because he had a year left and had he wanted to stay he could of told Hull to fook off, he fell out with Mad Mandy as he stuck up for his backroom staff Mandy wanted to reduce and when the offer came he left
Houdini Logic Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Leicester were the first chamionship team Pearson managed for more than part of a season and you never know (though you can take a good guess), it may have all been just luck. For me it's good to hear that he continued to have the same impact when he moved on to Hull - building the squad, developing the youth etc. For those people slagging off the OP because they think they know it all because Nigel used to manage here - you're just cretins.
blueredswed Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Fair play, was a good read to be fair. Now back to the banter... Fryatt and Hobbs must be crying into their porridge this morning! Why? They will also come back
m00nie Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Why? They will also come back they better not... if he has money to spend he needs to IMPROVE the squad not buy players that are worse than what we have
flowwolf Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Do we really want a man with such low morals if he walks out on Hull? They gave him a way out and a job and backed him to the hilt and this is how he repays them. If he does shit on them I hope that old adage holds true " what goes around comes around" and he gets shit on here for a second time. No to Pearson the turncoat thank you.
FallenAngel Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Why? They will also come back Can't say i'd be excited at that prospect, we have better now

I want better players in the team than Wellens, Gallagher, King and Howard. I want more!!!!!!! Well yeh, but what's your point? We aren't in the bloody top division yet are we. Did you expect Pearson to recreate the 70s side (which didn't win anything) in League One? Did you expect him to reach the FA Cup final or win the league cup? I'm afraid it's unlikely that we'll ever have players like Keith Weller again. If he was around now he'd be playing for a team in the Champions League I should think. From the clips I've seen of him I actually liken him to a right footed Gareth Bale. And Alan Clarke sounds like some of the players we've got now, expensive and an a-hole. You can't complain about the money we've spent, Pearson hasn't even spent it. I seem to remember the teams of the 60s and 70s being managed by up and coming managers, like Pearson. I can't believe some people are disgusted with Pearson but use Dave Jones as the much better choice Give me strength.

And when did he mention anything about loyalty? He said he was disappointed that he didn't feel wanted. Go and support Hull if you care so much about them.
