Nigel Pearson

Although Pearson wouldn't have been my first choice, I think he is a very good choice for the job.

What is additionally pleasing about him coming back is the fact that it vindicates him leaving in the first place and the circumstances that lead to it - Lee Hoos, Mandi and all associated cretins and their behaviour.

to the hull fan who rote this is was a very nice article and wasnt full of you blasting our club which is unusual, i just wanted to know if Pearson leaves who would you guys want in im interested because we are not all selfish twats who think about our club hull are a good little club and id hate to think this is going to have a negative impact on them if he leaves, who would you want as manager though if he dos come>>>?

I think the main issue with most things in Football is money, as i said before i dont think NP would leave if it wasnt a brilliant offer. As for blasting your club, if they want a manager and are willing to pay the going rate theres not a lot we can do. I think City fans in general are greatful for the job NP has done. When he came is we had a squad full of overpaid average players signed in desperation by the previous regime. Oh and we had the parasite that is Jimmy Bullard, who i beleive NP had a major hand in his sacking. NP bought wisely and got results to stave of the threat of relegation to League 1, which would have been our home for many years i beleive.

On the issue of Hull being a little club. In terms of History yes. But i think with the players we have (as long as NP doesnt come back shopping) we will shock a few teams and could be a surprise playoff contender. In terms of negative impact, im not sure. It will depend on certain things - Will NP take his whole backroom staff? Will he declare intrest in some of our personel? Most importantly we need to get the right man for the job as i beleive that its a 2-3 year project going on here to realistically get back to the Premiership.

Next manager, personally i would like to see Warren Joyce, current Manchester United reserve team coach and Hull Legend. Also Sean O' Drisscol would be a good call and more realistic.

I think O'Driscoll would be a good choice for you guys and I'm a little surprised his name didn't even crop up amongst some of the utter tripe that did.

He didn't work miracles at Donny, but he did well with them on a limited budget and before a massive slump at the end of last season (1 win in their last 19) had them playing some decent stuff. With a team which should be looking to push on up the table -such as yourselves- as opposed to cling on I think he would do quite well given a good amount of time and more resources then what he has had previously.

I think with O'Driscoll, he had taken Doncaster as far as he could. Given a cash injection he may have been able to get the club to a consistant mid table postion. But with Doncaster, i think the trouble is attracting the players of cailbre to get them that step further. Nice stadium, but not a big club or even close.

Not saying that Hull are a massive club, but Premier League 2 years ago and debt free should be a attractive selling point to a lot of managers. I and a lot of the fans believe had/if Hull are within sight of the playoffs an injection of cash in January would be given to the manager to spend. I think NP would have spent this wisely, but with a new manager it maybe harder to spend wisely as he will be wanting to bring players in to build a team in his own mould so we could be back at square one!

Looks like the Pearson deal will go through today, good luck and lets hope for a playoff final meeting!

Its not the fact i dont want pearson back its the fact that this smacks of desperation and to be honest a waste of nearly 2 years ,

as in why did the thais let pearson go in the 1st place? why was he not a good manager then and now all of sudden he is now?

I would be surprised if he told hull i want to go bk ! but hey money talks

Correct the last 18months have been a waste. You're fooling yourself if you think we're a better team now, though we do have better players

Who really gives one that he's not good with the media? Can't wait to hear stringer squirm

Considering the owners are all about promoting their brand more via LCFC, going for a manager who is not well known and is not keen on talking to the media, kinda goes against what they want i think

Mate you have got the wrong end of the stick what will be promoting the brand will be when we are in the premiership, so give me Nigel's boring monologues any day because he gets results on the pitch, which Sven for all of his charisma and charm failed to do so.

They wanted PL football AND a high profile manager.

With Sven they got 1 of those, but didn't feel they were going to get the other, the real cash-cow for them.

Hence Sven was dumped and Mr Pearson returns.

I`m sure the owners would rather see NP in the dug out against Man U at Old Trafford than some super star celeb manager (Sven type) in the dug out against Cov at the Ricoh arena..

Their aim is the Prem, lets not forget that that comes first..

I'm not too bothered, but it matters to some.

Well i hope for Nigels sake he can get them the cash cow asap, but i don't believe it is going to be thrilling stuff to watch in the meantime (i'd like to think we're still going to see plenty goals but i doubt it), i'm looking forward to NP whipping the lads into shape and making his mark on the team again though.

I may not sound it, but i am definately happy with his return, back to basics and make us tough to beat once again. :scarf:

As a Hull born Leicester fan I know all about Joyce as one of Hulls few respectable players in the old division 3, and what he did in Hull's great escape season (i remember a very decisive derby match against Scarborough, which I was at as a very little boy. I've followed his career with interest and actually considered mentioning him as someone I'd like to see here. Smart man with an eye for a youngster and attacking instincts. Would love to see him back at Hull.

Anybody who is 'dreading' Pearson coming back hasn't got a ****ing scooby doo. He literally made only 2 real errors at his time here;

1. Selling Max Gradel, and for next to nothing at that

2. Wrong Team Selection / Tactics for the 1st Leg of the Play-Off Semi v Cardiff

Otherwise he was brilliant. Okay so he's not the most entertaining when being interviewed. Well, on the opposite hand Ian Holloway was, and he ****ed up more than any other manager in our history and will have to live with that fact, and take it to the grave with him.

So he doesn't play the most attacking or attractive brand of football... GET REAL YOU IDIOTS, WE'RE LEICESTER CITY, NOT ARSENAL / MAN U / BARCA / MAN CITY!! I accept that teams such as West Brom under DiMatteo played excellent football and got promoted, but you ask any Baggies fan about Megson, and they speak highly of him... cos he got 2 promotions with them, and that really was dire football.

Another example of people getting too big for their boots and having unrealistic expectations- Roman Abramovich. Under The Special One, they won everything under the Sun, bar the Champions League, which they would have done had Jose been there for the Final against united in Rome, and if not then the following season. He went on to win it with Inter, and he'll get Real Madrid to the semi's at least this season. Yet since they sacked him they haven't really won anything apart from an FA Cup. And the reason he was sacked- cos Roman wanted 'attractive/sexy' football. He got that to a degree with Scolari, Ancelotti and Villas-Boas. But they won / will not win **** all. Chelsea fans would love to have Jose's 'boring football' back.

You stupid, stupid fans, banging on about Pearson's 'boring football'- seriously, shut up. You're entitled to an opinion, but you're chatting a load of nonsense. Winning Football is all I care about at the minute, and when my team wins, thats' entertainment to me. Winning enough games to get us promoted. Then we can hopefully get settled in the Prem, the Thai boys back us a bit more, and then maybe we can thing about attractive, and winning football.

Do you think established Prem teams like Villa, Everton, Stoke, Sunderland, Blackburn play great football week in, week out- no they don't. As long as they're winning, their fans couldn't give a sh*t. Even under Martin O'Neill, the press use to hammer us for playing effective football, which worked for us, but wasn't pretty on the eye- WHO CARES!? If we get 4 top 10 consecutive seasons, with cup runs and Europe under Pearson, playing his particular brand of football, will you still complain then!?!?!?!

Sometimes there's no making people happy. I say shut up, see what happens, and if he is appointed, then support him, cos we'll be in with a shout of going up if tweaks things correctly. But don't mock him for what he did here, he got us promoted from the nether regions at the first time of asking, and we had great fun along the way, and he got us to within a sensible penatly kick off a play-off final, which we all agree we would have won against Blackpool, a team we did the double over that season.

And for those of you with short memories, under NP in the Championship, we had entertaining victories/matches against QPR- home and away (1-2 on Sky & 4-0), Forest home, 3-0, Watford 4-1, Middlesboro 2-0, Blackpool home & away, Sheff Weds 3-0, 0-0 against run away leaders Newcastle, with 10 men, when we deserved to win, we beat swansea in the league and cup at home, another double over Palace, the 3-3 against Watford (which I accept we should have won), and the list goes on...

Good day.

Good post.

I guess this proves to some that say Pearson has no real charachter or passion, that he has! Look at his responses in the video.
