Filbert st in the 70's and 80's was 10x times better have heard 12k make more noise than 24k in the kp

Strange how many forget the dire games at Filbo in the late 80s, when we used to have 7000 watching us surrender to Barnsley and Oldham.

Was the stadium rocking then? I suspect not..

Curse of the new ground and times Nick.

Back to the bad old days a few scraps in and around the ground n you will get atmosphere.

Get rid of the women and families Jobs a good un lol

If thats what you really want?

No, I quite clearly stated I wanted a library. A real one with books and ruddy journals.

So who's is better? Leeds, west ham? Cardiff maybe on their day. Southampton? Forest, cov, derby, donny, reading, boro, ipswich, watford, peterborough, barnsley, bristol city, brighton, millwall, portsmouth, birming and blackpool certainly don't. Maybe palace, not sure if they still have decent support.

What do you mean numbers or atmosphere????

If atmosphere then wham leed's cardiff better sotton pompey tree's ipswich and even millwall can be better than us and equal most of the time.

If your talking numbers check up the attendances and work it out :crylaugh::crylaugh::crylaugh:

Add brum to the equal or better

Birmingham and Ipswich are terrible.

It does get a bit frustrating being in the kop and very few people get involved with the chanting but thats why you just have to chant louder

Being at them games but not getting to many now I would still say yes>

I remember being at games with 11,000 there and it was still twice as loud as some of the games I've been too this season.

The noise level in some games this year would make a snooker crowd blush.

Atmosphere is shit as it is in most grounds. Move on you lot. It is football in 2011. There will never be the atmosphere there was in the 70s, 80s (even though quite right the gates were shit) and 90s. Gave up moaning about the atmosphere years ago. Just one thing...

...get rid of the fat prat with the drum. Makes us a laughing stock. Rather be in a Library. Any club with sizeable support just take the piss continually. Imagine what it would be like if we were in the premiership

If we get rid of him we can start singing songs again, rather than the inane chanting. Let's be original. For crying out loud most fans still get the words wrong to WHEN YOUR SMILING. And sing it far too fast!

The young lads in L1 is what football is about. But you need to realise that the person behind you was put there by the club. That's not what football is about.

No offense to Jobber but if he didn't pursue with the drumming I think the fans could sing chants more easily, or it would come to that stage when they realize that he doesn't need to hold their hands, lets make the atmosphere better

What do you mean no offence to Jobber? Put forward as the face of LCFC. An absolute joke, represents everything naff about the club. The biggest embarrassment.BERNIE Is my hero! Get rid now.

Had a couple of mates over from SA the other week they had not been to a Leicester match since they emigrated 15 years ago.

Took them in the Kop and they where expecting it to be rocking :dunno:

It surprised them how quiet it was and when they stood up and jumped around when we scored a group of Ladies sat in front gave them the evils then complained about them to a steward.

Their opinion was that the ladies should go sit in the east/west stand and take there flasks and sweeties with them. They used to stand in SK1 at Filbo they think we've sold our souls!!!

It would be a nice idea to have a library at the kp stadium, there would be something to read at half time. Perfect if you're bored with Thai dancing, the birch, or queueing for that pint that you finally receive one minute before the 2nd half starts.

I could of been rude and said f**k Jobber we don't need you to start chants we are more than capable of creating a decent atmosphere without the bl**dy drum their much better

This threads about noise so yeah I'm talking about noise. Why does everyone think millwall are loud? A small set of chavs either side of the away end with one and a half songs? Forest and ipswich laughable suggestions. Portsmouth used to be decent but not sure anymore. And I said saints west ham and cardiff possibly were..

Agreed.

It's typical to slate your own, it's like telling off your own kids whilst their mates get away with it, you strive to better your own, but it doesn't mean they are really bad. People are always having a go at our support but it's the same for almost everyone else in the Championship. And yes I mean vocally, not just in numbers, everyone longs for the atmospheres we had decades ago but it just isn't the same anymore, it's not just us.

These threads are far more embarrassing than our home atmosphere, it really gets my goat that people constantly complain about the atmosphere then continue to sit in the Kop. No it's not the Kop at Filbert Street (or should I say, the Kop at Filbert Street before it was all-seater) you've know that for years, so why do you carry on buying tickets there? More people complain about the atmosphere than the ones who try to create one.

People seem to have the impression that every other ground has standing all the way round, they don't, some of them don't even have singing section, and this goes for old grounds too.

If you want a good atmosphere stand in L or K block in the East stand, we very rarely get outsung in there.

And also completely agree with those saying we've had very little to shout about this season, it's been a massive let down and for years weve played crap football, I'm not surprised when people aren't inspired to sing. You can only get behind them so long before you get fed up with their pathetic excuse for a performance.

We will never re-create filbert street unless we have an area of unreserved seating next to the away end so those that want to sing can congregate. Therefore if you want atmosphere, put pressure on the club to do that.

And for those who think us old gits are just looking at Filbert street days through rose tinted glasses, NO!!!! IT REALLY WAS BETTER!!!!!

442 magazine many moons ago did a noise survey of grounds, Filbert Street was 2nd to only Elland Road in a survey of all English clubs (They obviously factored in size of crowds etc as Man u would win every time as their huge attendances did occasionally make noise if they scored)

ACTION

1. Get rid of the DRUM. It is pathetic. Leeds had the biggest laugh over that drum. THE PRAT WITH THE STICK THOUGHT HE WAS BEING IRONIC WAVING BACK AT THEM, HE WASN'T, HE WAS JUST SAD.

2. Get back to singing songs!!! not just chants (though chants do have their place) and someone please teach the L1 boys (no criticism of them in general as at least they try to raise an atmosphere) how to sing When you're smiling. It needs to be much slower with real hand waving (sort of Max Bygraves stylie).

3. Stand up and sing, the more that do it the more join in. I'm 51 in the family stand at the back with my 10 yr old and I still get up and sing. DO IT, get an atmosphere going. I look at teams like Galatasary and Boca juniors and marvel at the dedication of their fans.

By the way love LCFC no matter what

Fair play to you but again, it's the family stand, why do you think there's going to be an atmosphere in there?

So clearly it's Jobbers fault that the atmosphere is shit, nothing to do with the fact nobody bohers singing for more than ten seconds, does not know the words to our songs and can only be bothered if we are playing like Brazil and are 3-0 up at least.

But five years ago, if you asked any fan in the championship which ground had the worst atmosphere and the quietest fans, the name "Britannia" would have featured heavily. Yet look at (and listen to) it now!

If we, or a number of clubs in this league, had the run of relative success that Stoke have had, then the noise and atmosphere could be transformed.

The young lads in L1 is what football is about. But you need to realise that the person behind you was put there by the club. That's not what football is about.

Most folk in L1 are just wind-up merchants, the type of "fans" who are as irritating as hell when seen at away grounds. Think Millwall, Forest or Hull for example.

No it's not his fault that the atmosphere is shit, it's just that him banging on that bloody drum adds to the shitness making us an embarrassment to away fans who continually take the piss. What's next, music played over the sound system to generate an atmosphere during the game. A bit of status quo, Tina turner and queen anyone.

It'll never be any good purely because the club couldn't care shit, and it makes me sick.

Look at Palace and what their fans are allowed to do. Far better club in terms of fan treatment than us, I'm sure.
