dave the caveman Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 . Warwick Davies acts like David Brent and it has the situations of Extras. Exactly this. Even the way it is filmed it is exactly like the office. It's basically the office 2 but set in the world of minor celebrities and with a dwarf as the main character instead of Brent. Which is a shame in my opinion, firstly because dwarfs aren't funny just because they're dwarfs unless you are less than four years old, but mainly because if they were going to redo the office, they could have chosen any scenario in the entire world, they could have chosen one that people could actually relate to like the office, but instead they chose minor celebrities again. It's a poor choice first time around, but to do it twice is just crap. And just because youve added a dwarf doesn't make it funny. It just doesn't. It would have been so much better if they'd have chosen the world of supermarket workers, or postmen, or anything really, anything but ****ing z-list celebrities. I'm very dissapointed to be honest because I think the office is one of if not the the best comedy of all time and this was an opportunity to remix some of that magic. Instead it's just dull.
purpleronnie Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Thought that extras was ok, theres so little decent comedy on tv that I probably watch it because of lack of options. The office was complete class, everything else gervais has done has been ok, I did like the ricky gervais show, the podcasts were fab, karl before he was a millionaire.
Webbo Posted 17 December 2011 Posted 17 December 2011 Got to say the last 2 episodes have been embarrassingly poor.
MikeyT Posted 17 December 2011 Posted 17 December 2011 Got to say the last 2 episodes have been embarrassingly poor. Keith Chegwin wanting to die wanking.
21st Century Fox Posted 17 December 2011 Posted 17 December 2011 Yeah other than the asphyxy wank joke it was pretty poor.
sdb Posted 17 December 2011 Posted 17 December 2011 Office - best show ever Extras - hit and miss. Got tiring and repetitive at times. Occasionally outstanding. Most of RG's other stuff - mediocre and predictable (not including Golden Globes and the like) Life's too Short - from what i've seen, not up to much. Finchy called it about right i think.
potter3 Posted 18 December 2011 Posted 18 December 2011 I really wanted to like it, but it's not really that great, although it has it's moments. Still worth a watch though.
MikeyT Posted 23 December 2011 Posted 23 December 2011 Second season on the way as well as an Idiot Abroad Special. http://www.unofficialgervais.com/2011/12/23/ricky-confirms-2nd-season-of-lifes-too-short-and-an-idiot-special/
Fox92 Posted 24 December 2011 Posted 24 December 2011 Second season on the way as well as an Idiot Abroad Special. http://www.unofficia...-idiot-special/ Not bothered about the life's too short, but Idiot Abroad should be alright. Karl and that Warwick should be a good mix.
