I am going to cheer myself up by listening my new Joy Division box set rather than watch the 2nd half... ...people say Joy Division were depressing but they aren't as depressing as Leicester at the moment.

My son Alex - who grew up in Hertford about 10 miles from Stevenage and was born in 2003... I was from Leicester and I strong armed into him being a Leicester supporter when all his school pals were Arsenal or Spurs. He stood up against the slings and arrows as a Leicester supporter through the years... ...then when he was 13 Alex had the last laugh in 2016 Alex wearing his Leicester Vardy shirt around Hertford was an instant celeb in 2016. Builders would stop him in the street to talk about Leicester... ...his school pals suddenly became more friendly! Today my son is 23 and he is going to the Stevenage game next Tuesday. Hope Reilly Carr plays (who previously played for our home town club Hertford) and was born in Stevenage.

I often switch to the opposition teams TV channel. The only thing I like about Matt Elliott is that he has quite a wide vocabulary for a football player. This allows him to paper over the cracks eg. Calling a shot "speculative" when in fact it was "shite".

I paid for this game a week ago on Foxes hub TV. For a posh boy Skipp is not bad... ....he went to the private Duncombe Primary School in Bengeo at roughly the same time as my own son Alex. The fees nearly bankrupted me. Like Alex - Oliver then went to a comprehensive Secondary (his parents were probably suffering the same financial pain as me!) Skipp played for the same Bengeo Tigers teams as my son - he was clearly very good at even a young age. My son who is now a P.E teacher was OK but much better at golf. When he was 10 my son was dropped from Bengeo Tigers for thumping a lad who had won MOTM which Alex disagreed with! Oliver was much better behaved - I have often told Alex - look where you could be with a bit more restraint. At least in his role as a P.E teacher in North London Alex got to teach Steffi Mavadidi's nephew (it is a small world!)

I have never been a huge fan of Skipp (despite him coming from Bengeo where I currently live)... ...but I thought he had a decent game today and didn't deserve to be subbed off.

I imagine that a lot of people (including me) don't really know how the Nations League works. To be honest I can't even be bothered to look it up. I don't mind the World Cup or European Championships because they are the traditional qualification for a tournament affairs. I am 57 and until this year have watched every England game for about the last 50 years. On Thursday I was so uninspired by the Nations League I watched a DVD with the wife instead. Tonight Countryfile and Antiques Roadshow are more appealing than England v. Finland!!
