Fox92 Posted 23 December 2011 Posted 23 December 2011 Cheers for the info and help every one. Muchos appreciated. And @Fox92 I hadn't thought of terrorists to be honest...now I am!!! :xmasdry: :xmastongue: That was gets me most times, especially when I flown to America before.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 23 December 2011 Posted 23 December 2011 Used BMI Baby a few times (E Mids - Ibiza, back and forth several times last summer). Faultless to be honest although it ended up being more expensive than Ryanair and Monarch via Brum. You can get some bargain deals with these low cost airlines but, obviously, don't expect red carpet service.

As long as they get me from A to B and then back to A again in one piece and still alive, I'll be satisfied.

I haven't even got a passport yet and apparently because I haven't had one as an adult, I have to have a 30 minute interview with some security people so they know I'm not a terrorist.
Rincewind Posted 23 December 2011 Posted 23 December 2011 Won't take long just remember to answer these questions correctly. 1 Are you a terrorist? 2 Have you ever been or intent on being a terrorist. 3 Do you have a bomb strapped to your waist? 4 Would you like to sit A To Gods right B To Gods left C on his lap D I don't give a shit 5 Do you think Americans are warmongers? Get one wrong and you will fail.
Saxondale Posted 27 December 2011 Posted 27 December 2011 Yeah, I used to use them. They're not bad at all. They market themselves as being the most premium of the economy airlines but they're all much of a muchness to be fair. EDIT: I've just remembered I did have a frig about with checking-in with them once at Glasgow. It was something to do with online check-in timeframes and I ended up having to pay extra to check-in face-to-face! That was pretty annoying.
He's not bald Posted 27 December 2011 Posted 27 December 2011 I use BMI,Fly Be,Ryanair and Aer Lingus for short haul flights regularly, apart from Aer Lingus having nicer planes and smarter cabin crew there is very little between them imo.
Kitchandro Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 Just reurned from a BMI flight yesterday, we usually fly with them, they are very good IMO.
Houdini Logic Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 If you're going Paris and scared of flying, why wouldn't you get the train?!
Steven Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 British Midland are the only airline in the entire world in over one thousand flights in my lifetime to bump me off a flight. Do not fly with BMI in any way, shape or form.
Captain... Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 Flew with BMI baby last month and with Ryanair this week, I fly quite a bit living in Spain but having family and friends in England, the main difference between the 2 is that BMI Baby realise you are human beings. They allocate you a seat when you check-in, if you want to choose you have to pay, but just the fact that you have a seat number means you do not have to partake in the Ryan air queue so you can find a seat with your friends/family/children. You have an option of checking in online or not if you are travelling without baggage, if you are travelling with bags you can't check in online. Baggage allowance is cheaper and you can take more weight in the bag 20kg vs Ryanair's 15kg they also don't give a crap if you buy something from duty free and can't fit it in your bag. This is probably the Ryanair thing that pisses me off the most, There was a woman who had effectively 2 handbags and a bottle of alcohol from duty free in a carrier bag, it would have weighed next to nothing, but the Ryanair jobsworth was insisting she put them all in the same bag, in the end she put the two handbags in the carrier bag because ther was no way the bottle would fit in her bags. Also BMI Baby let me take my hold luggage in the cabin, I had my laptop bag and a small suitcase which I had paid to put in the hold, but because I had a train to catch I asked if I could take it on the plane and they said yes as it wasn't full, she also put me in a seat at the front so I could get out quicker. Basically Ryanair are scum, if you play the game you will be ok, but they will do everything they can to catch you out, and will bombard you with adverts throughout the flight, BMI baby whilst not perfect are much better.
AoWW Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 I'll probably get an annual policy next time I go away. Don't have one at the minute as the last proper trips I went on (excluding weekends away and whatnot) were India which work paid for, The Alps which needed special insurance to cover me climbing mountains and Cape Verde which I bought extra cover for as we had to take 8 flights over the course of 10 days. Anyway if that wasn't an excuse for me to boast about my trips abroad then I don't know what is. Just to unashamedly gatecrash MikeyT's thread, what did you think of Cape Verde?
Ron Burgundy Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 Just to unashamedly gatecrash MikeyT's thread, what did you think of Cape Verde? well if were turning it into a Cape Verde thread quiet, VERY QUIET, Lovely Hotels but u need to make sure you like staying in them as theres nothing else to do!
