Matt Mills attitude

Man City have spent 3 and a half years and multi millions trying to get the level they are currently playing at. feeling for the light switch in the dark.

city have been doing the same. stability is crucial

Yes and they got rid of anyone who did not do what they had paid for. I will say again paying 5million for someone who can't pass a descent ball forward and can't control his defense and team as a captain is a scandalous waste of money for a club our size. He won't last long under Pearson mark my words.

No one ever talks about his defending, which has cost us very few goals this season - suddenly everyone thinks £5m gets you a defender good enough to play for Arsenal or Spurs, but just because we have our 'big money' blinkers on, that is actually very cheap for a defender who at this point of the season, with a lairy guy next to him and no defensive minded midfielders in front of him has presided over the 6th best defence in the division. He is just another scapegoat for the poor season we are having because the Thais sacked the manager too early - don't worry, they'll love him soon when Nige gets things going, and it is cool to have someone from leicester in the team

They didn't sack Sven too early, they sacked him too late. Millsy doesn't look that different to hobbsy. Same faults, just cost a bit more!

The only thing I'll say about Millsy is that as of yet he doesn't come across as a particularly vocal captain.

PLEASE change the fookin record!

We KNOW you thought Sven was sacked too early.

Fair enough, that's your view... But we know now....

It really really really is like you were in love with him?

Were you?

It would make your obsession with the bloody man easier to understand....

You are spot on about his passing and I don't think he appears to be captain material. Although I can only judge that of course from how he comes over on the pitch..

I would not be at all surprised if Pearson does look elsewhere.

I don't think Mills is a bad player.. But nowhere near the player I expected him to be

80% of c.b head and kick it ?Do u want two ball playing centre backs????? Remember Bruma and Bamba ??? If he had a midfilder to pass on too??? he would not need too play the ball to channels .

Last time I looked it's 2012 not 2009 Hobbs has gone !!!! Long gone.

He was and is SLOW....

When we signed mills we was all estatic!! Remember that , he was the best c.b in this division last season !

Granted 5m is alot but that's not his fault!!! If we pay over a million for another player in this window I do hope he hits the ground running for ****s sake !!!

Stringer and young have a lot too answer for regarding the atmosphere at the club supporter wise if you ask me , I don't WANT there opinion on any player just tell me facts...!!! Where the ball is etc....

Rant over .....

Long lol.

Literally couldn't believe my ears when I heard you had paid us somewhere between £4,000,000 and £5,000,000 for Mills.

A few here have pointed out the stronger points of his game - he's a man mountain when the ball is in the air, he never shirks a tackle and is a strong imposing CB figure and I would agree with all these points. I would even go as far as to say when Mills has a good game he is easily Prem League quality...

However, it seems that Leicester fans are seeing the same things that pi$$ed off so many Reading fans.

1) He loses his head and gives away sill free kicks, gets booked and sent.

2) His attitude stinks - giving the home fans a middle finger salute after a game was unbelievable.

3) That long ball - Im not so sure his instructions are to hoof it long as when he was with us it was unbearable to watch. If it is the case that he can't see the value in a short pass to the midfield to build play then he shouldn't be playing at this level.

4) He seems to make too many silly and very costly mistakes whether it be awful positional play or weak backpasses etc...

I was a bit annoyed to see Mills go, he showed enough in his time at Reading to make me think he could be a top quality CB and I thought he would develop well. After seeing some of his performances (admittedly only highlights), reading match reports and the posts on this thread I am glad we got shot of him and to think we got that much money for him almost makes me feel sorry for you!

Anyway, best of luck for the rest of the season and if Mills does stay in the squad then at least you get to see his fit Mrs at home games.

Yes, but now I love Nigel. I have a soft spot for our players too, more than I care about all the twonks at other clubs. Hate the board though, think they are rubbish and hope they are learning. Like Mills, think he is a good player and reminds me of the kind of player we used to have under O Neill - lacking in finesse and massive skill, perhaps bordering on clumsy, but prepared to defend hard and a big strong lad. Actually reminds me of jimmy Willis the most, especially the way in which his own fans berate him game in game out, even when we win or keep a clean sheet - Jimmy turned em round though, I do fear those days are gone now though.

Oh and I'll stop rabbiting on about Sven when you stop prattling on about Beckford mills etc, ie never

It was very clear he went over to the fans at Palace, he was also ushering others to come over to create some unity between fans and players/

Probably the first time he interacted with the rest of the team all match.

I think this backs up my original point.

In addition I've never seen him show any genuine interest in our fans good or bad.

We were well and truly mugged off when we paid £5 million for him, I bet Madejski still has a chuckle at that over a glass of something.

Bullllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll-shit.

First game against Cov? Check out his reaction in front of the fans, he was right up for it that day. Even on Monday, when ****** have been grumbling at him all season, he came over and gave us a round of applause.

Have some of you ever thought that players just won't respond to us if we're giving them stick for 90 minutes. Take at Palace, we go 2-0 up and some of us start singing that cringey "we're winning away...how shit must you be..." song. Within 5 minutes (give or take) we concede. We've got some fairly crappy fans, I just don't think we get behind the team as much as we should.

Bullshit.

Watch the highlights. Towards the end when we're hanging on, a ball went up to Howard and he didnt win it or make any attempt to win it after it got away from him (not mentioned in commentary for some reason?), the ball gets played into the box and eventually put out for a corner. Mills gives Howard an absolute bollocking. I dont know where this lack of passion bullshit comes from and also no idea where the myth comes from that he doesnt talk enough on the pitch. He screams, shouts at everyone and when someone doesnt pull their weight, he pulls them up. When he needs to throw his body on the line he does, he puts his head where it hurts and isnt afraid of getting clattered.

Last season we were banging on about having a centre back that defended as a priority. Well here he is and we still ****ing moan.

I think the problem is, everyone is always saying at the ground or on the phone in, 'we need a defender like Walsheh'. Well Steve Walsh wasn't 'the legend' Steve Walsh after 20 ****ing games.

Give this guy a chance. He's cost big money (although many ITK have said it isnt the £5m reported) and he's our captain. No idea why after such a short time, fans are hammering the guy.

The players read these forums, twitter and listen to the forum on a Monday. Given the constant critisism, I'm not sure I blame the players if they aren't sprinting over to the fans to suck them off after a game.

the boy will come good

This !!!

As been said before ..... It's the midfield?!?!?!

And our insistence to bomb our full backs on.....

We are to easy too set up against until we get wingers!
