Mack Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 What is this guy all about? Woeful passing and average defending aside I saw two incidents today that showed me this guy has a bad attitude. Firstly we get a corner, and I watched Gallagher ask him to get on the front post to look for a flick on, Mills just looked at him gave him a negative up yours hand gesture and headed for the back of the box and into the crowd of players. Then in injury time when we should be chasing a late goal he tussles with a Pompey player and the ball goes out for a goal kick, so I am sitting there expecting him to retrieve the ball as quickly as he can to get it back to Kasper as fast as possible and he just jogs off and leaves Kasper to run 25 yards to get the ball back. What is it with this bloke? He seems to be a non team player and not captain material at all.
Matt Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 He can **** off, with the rest of the big ego's in this team.
kingfox Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Thank you thank you. I think one of the reasons we are doing crap is because Mills is captain, I actually hate him in all honesty. I absolutely hate players who just hoof the ball up field, yes some of his passes pulled off, but most of the time he always over hits them, you don't win matches by hoofing the ball out of play. He cannot pass a ball out of defence, yet St Ledger can and he doesn't get played and now he is even transfer listed. If any Reading fans read our forum, they will be laughing at us, but they are right about him, he is an overrated piece of trash. Players that just hoof the ball, and have the temperament of a madman, can just piss off in my view. Hate players like Mills, absolutely hate them.
Callabinho Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Both his and schmeichels body language was worrying today!
Bert Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Both his and schmeichels body language was worrying today! I mentioned this somewhere, maybe in twitter. Not specifically these two though.
Babylon Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Both his and schmeichels body language was worrying today! Looked no different to usual. What exactly about their body language did you think was suspect?
seenitall Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Probably realises he's made a mistake joining a knee jerk club with negative fans and changing an international manager for one who is totally unproven except inLeague 1. Perhaps he even wants to leave. Perhaps Beckford does too, and even Schmeical and Bamba. Think how happy all the Leicester fans will be when they have gone.
Fox92 Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Personally I think he is very overrated and we look stupid to have paid over £4million for him. He doesn't look like a captain either to me.

Try telling this to Zaphod Beeblebrook on the other thread.... Who seems to watching a different player to me. Mills has never seem to inspire as a captain. His passing is an utter joke... We gotta keep the ball more I think it's actually less about attitude and effort than about ability. I really do now think we actually have some very very average players at the club and to compare what we paid for mills with his performances makes me wanna laff.. Or cry... When I looked at the next few games we have coming up I can see us sinking even further down the table. Of course, we may sign a few.. But they need 'time to gel' ( how many times have we heard that this season) Mills is a country mile off the player I thought he may be.
Father Ted Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Mills was fantastic today but hows he meant to play with a clown?
Lambert09 Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Too pissed off to even try and defend the lad... he isnt the problem this team has...if you think he is, then I really have no time for your opinion on football
Finnegan Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Mills was fantastic today but hows he meant to play with a clown? I assume the clown you're referring to is probably our most consistent and solid defender? The one who, you know, is capable of actually winning the ball and then retaining possession? Bamba scares the shit out of me at times, I've watched him for longer than he's been at City and you're always just waiting for one of his forays to drop us royally in the shit. But somehow he's managed to avoid complete, spectacular failure so far this season. Last two games I will admit he's been a little bit poor, against Ipswich I felt he should have done more to stop their goal and was trying a bit too hard with the ball - but Jesus, somebody had to be. Mills is a solid defender, I like him and I hope he grows in to his role here. I certainly don't see how anyone can "hate" him at this stage in his career. But his distribution is an absolute embarrassment and I can't for the life of me see how we paid five million for a player with such immensely limited footballing skill. His consistent inability to find a team mate with a simple pass is one of the most frustrating elements of our team at present.
kingfox Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Mills was fantastic today but hows he meant to play with a clown? And Mills isn't a clown, haven't you seen him tackle in past games. You call hoofing the ball out of play and giving away passes, fantastic. He is a waste of £5 million, honestly players like him really grate me cannot stand him. The **** should be dropped, or at least have the armband taken away from him, he is a problem in our performances, if he tried to bring the ball out of defence and find midfielders then we might be doing better, but he just get's the ball takes one look and wacks it up the field and out of play. And you think that is fantastic, get a grip!
Bally Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Personally I think he is very overrated and we look stupid to have paid over £4million for him. He doesn't look like a captain either to me. Not all paid upfront.
Filbert The Fox Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Who would people make captain if not Mills? I'm not saying he should be captain but just wondered who you'd pick. For me there are no leaders in the team.If i had to pick one it would have to be Konchesky.

Jace Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 I don't think he is that bad but I cannot see how he has been an improvement on Jack Hobbs, I don't think Matt can hit a dead ball straight his kick on soccer am was the worst I can remember from a professional footballer
Kitchandro Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Probably realises he's made a mistake joining a knee jerk club with negative fans and changing an international manager for one who is totally unproven except inLeague 1. Perhaps he even wants to leave. Perhaps Beckford does too, and even Schmeical and Bamba. Think how happy all the Leicester fans will be when they have gone. No WE'VE made a mistake signing them. I don't generally dislike our own players but there's some things that just keeps winding me up about Mills. It's the senseless selfish tackles he makes when he gets angry (the ones that have seen him sent off twice) it's his moaning at the fans after 3 games, it's his failure to stop hoofing it when it's clearly not working. I've not really seen much leadership from him so far. A waste of £5m.
seenitall Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 If I was Mills I would have said "don't pay that for me, I'm not worth it" and then insisted on going to Hartlepool, but I am not a footballer, and that is why he should be hated!

Callabinho Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Looked no different to usual. What exactly about their body language did you think was suspect? He seemed to be hanging his head a little bit, something I haven't noticed before. He could have just had a bad day, but I got the impression he wasn't happy, it was prior to the foul also.
EnderbyFox Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Was disappointed with his reaction when Pompey scored, you could easily see Wellens and Konchesky trying to keep the players heads up, whereas Mills just stood there shaking his head. Not what i like to see from a captain if i'm honest...
