broughtonblue Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 Unfortunately it looks like St Ledger is on his way which I feel is a big mistake. I would love us to give Jason Puncheon a chance, can play either left wing or right wing or just behind the striker, scores with both feet, 6 month contract with the option of another 2 years
Donut Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 More than one will come, more than one will go. I like Jason Puncheon as well but not sure he is on the radar
Kitchandro Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 If we only bring in one we are scuppered. We need 3 midfielders for a start. Probably a defender too, and Nigel clearly wants a striker. So we're looking at 5ish. We could get rid of twice that number.

I agree, but we Are at the minute a mid table 2nd division club, will players in a similar or higher position be attracted to us, I don't believe we are looking at players that are settled at their current clubs, which restricts the Market somewhat!

Yeh fair point, and truthfully I don't expect Pearson to bring in more than 3. I hope I'm wrong.

Thats a fair point. It probably will come to the terms we offer, but as weve seen already thats no way to build a club. There isnt much footballing motivation for a top 6 player to come here otherwise
cc_star Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 Need 2 wide men for a start I'd also like to see us sign a dominating CDM... We're very easy to play through, someone who can do all the donkey work for the person who's supposed to be pulling the strings but finds himself having to do everything else too Could do with signing a CB of the type we thought Mills would be too, perhaps Mills can be it, but he needs to improve throughout the remainder of this season so we're well placed for next should we not go up 10 or more players could easily leave without a single negative impact, it would actually be positive if they did. All of Sven's men who aren't regulars for a start and add to that the players from Pearson's first spell in charge who aren't the players they were 2 years ago... but as squad members some of them (not all) would need replacing first, we don't want to cut our noses off to spite our face Pearson's never had a problem getting talented young lads on loan from the big clubs, Hobbs was an awesome loan deal as was Cleverly & Spearing, even Gilbert was great when he joined, although he faded - That's Liverpool, ManU & Arsenal in NP's little black book, of course it would be easier to attract permanent players if things were different, but we're still a better long term prospect than many including Bolton, Wolves & Co & we can match them in wages which not many clubs above us in the Champs can do. I just hope he doesn't go mad & sign too many, I'm sure he won't but that's essentially what ruined our season in the first place
cc_star Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 I thought Pearson liked St Ledger Stuck on the transfer list after a public bust-up when SSL thought he could pick the team with his name on it Hasn't heard of the fact that you go and tell the mgr you're not happy privately
Legend_in_blue Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 We need a midfield general who will take this club forward into the Premier League within the next two seasons. From our current position of 14th though, attracting anyone to the club is making this extremely difficult. There's little to no chance of anyone jumping ship from a club in a higher position than ours, even if we are "massive". We need a miracle to pull this season round imo.

It's difficult to convince good players to commit to a side playing like we are and in this league position if they already have a chance of going up with their current club. Oh what I'd give for Tom Cleverley or Mark Davies in our midfield now. We need another one of them and a good winger, maybe two, it's going to be hard to get these on permanents.

Legend_in_blue Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 If only they grew on trees. Indeed. The pressure laid on by the owners is making this a real problem. It's the reason why we need a miracle to pull this around. I can't see it happening. When the owners see it not happening, then what?
LCFC BEAST Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 Josh McEachran would be a nice addition but I doubt Chelsea would let him leave on loan. I would have said Frimpong from Arsenal but obviously Wolves have him.
Schlupp Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 Has anyone heard any news on Heskey?A few months ago he said he would love a Leicester return

Chelsea will let him go out on loan but I think only to another prem side, probably throw him into the Gary Cahill deal to sweeten things, would love him to come here though

NP has stated he's looking for a few. Maybe he is playing the number down somewhat and trying to fool people. Maybe he is being straight up and honest. It's difficult to read what NP thinks and one can conclude any number of things from what he does and doesn't say. I hope you are right but we'll end up spending over the odds again on permo's if we decide to go that way rather than loans this time round.

Too be honest I don't want a load of players, going up this year is unlikely and it will **** the summer up if we sign 6 loans who all leave again in the summer leaving us to have to sign a whole new team again, it possibly just would be better to a couple of key players who can make a difference, bolster that with a loan or two & leave it at that, teams need to be built & then moulded together throwing money at a load of loans last Jan, then 12 players this summer was a disaster we don't want to repeat.
Jagdinho Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Not to come across harsh, but everyone said how amazing Danns was at Palace, how we have are 20 goal a season player in Beckford and how Mills will do well in defence and they've all not lived upto expectation. What pisses me off, is when people say there crap. There obviously not crap if there earning 15k a week, they just need to be in a team or with other players that suit them. If we get in 2 or 3 players that can work WITH, not replace the players we have now, we could do a lot better, Also, people say sign Sharp, Kebe, and god knows who else, but what makes you think they can fit into our squad? They could be just as bad as the players we have now if they don't fit into are playing style.
Leicesterpool Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Players To Come I Think will come- Peter Whittingham From Cardiff- £6million Jack Hobbs From Hull- £3million Danny Rose From Spurs to join us on loan Nicky Maynard From Bristol City- £5million Leaving Us- Andy King Michael Ball Michael Johnson Jeff Schlupp Sean St Ledger John Panstil Bruno Berner Frank Moussa

Other than that, King I'd be disappointed, but he needs to up his game a bit, and if Schlupp does go out, hopefully it's only a loan.

From what I've seen of them in a Leicester shirt those 3 aren't good enough.
