beryllind Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 If a player is on the bench and does not get on the pitch, does it effect his salary, also, does the same apply if he is not in the squad, Would a player be happy to sit out and pick up his wage packet Also why bring a player on at the end of the game for just 2 mins; is it just to get appearance money ??????? To nights Leicester Mercury makes me raise this subject re Nugent
lcfcadam Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 It all depends on each player's individual contract. Some will have appearance bonuses etc, but ultimately it's not the player who decides if he's playing or not, it's the manager. And the manager is hardly going to be bothered about ensuring his player picks up extra money for making a 2 minute appearance is he! And of course some players might be happy to just sit out week after week whilst picking up their wage, but that seems to be a pretty rare attitude. Also only a stupid manager / chairman would allow that situation to take place for long anyway (ALA DJ Campbell at Leicester perhaps?)...
Christoph Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 Most managers bring on players late on in the game to slow the game down and generally to get some fresh legs on the pitch, only takes one kick to go in a goal.
m00nie Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 determined to get replies to this aint you.. posted it in 2 threads now started a entirely new one on it.. .time is usually one of the main reasons to bring a player on so late.
jonlcfc1990 Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 if your winning it's to waste time. I remember portsmouth last season in like the 90th minute both manager and first team coach were looking at which player was furthest away from the dugout so it would make the maximum effect of time wasting and ruining momentum. If your losing or a draw it could be a late last push or chance creating as Gary neville said about manchester uniteds late goals "if you keep the ball well in the final minutes and keep pushing you will score".
AjcW Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 Just to change the subject slightly. How long should I spend in the shower?
Salieri Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 Just to change the subject slightly. How long should I spend in the shower? About 7 minutes should be enough, slightly more if you fancy a tug.
AjcW Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 About 7 minutes should be enough, slightly more if you fancy a tug. Ahh good, current economic climate made me raise the point, energy saving and all that jazz!

shade Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 why tug in the shower, your jizz goes stringy and gooey and turns into the most annoying substance on earth.
lcfcadam Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 why tug in the shower, your jizz goes stringy and gooey and turns into the most annoying substance on earth. This is true. It also blocks up your drainpipes if you do it too often.

I don't get this wasting time with subs idea. Surely the officials should add on more time for these? Don't they count as stoppages?

I'm disappointed in you; when I saw you'd posted in this thread I fully expected it to be in relation to the wanking etiquette conversation, not something genuine and football-related...
wellyfox Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 I don't get this wasting time with subs idea. Surely the officials should add on more time for these? Don't they count as stoppages? No they are part of the game. Thats why some times managers get carded for wasting time on subs and players walking off get carded for taking too long.

Sorry. I can't really risk a wank in the shower, it's ****ed up and switches off at random intervals and sometimes never comes back on (I'm talking about the shower, not my cock). So it's a race against time. 7 minutes for a standard wash sounds about right though. No they are part of the game. Thats why some times managers get carded for wasting time on subs and players walking off get carded for taking too long. Well they need to sort that out then.
Kitchandro Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 Just to change to subject slightly, how do you replace your hard drive?
lcfcadam Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 it's ****ed up and switches off at random intervals and sometimes never comes back on (I'm talking about the shower, not my cock) Yeah that's what you say... Just to change to subject slightly, how do you replace your hard drive? Easily
The Doctor Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 7 minutes in the shower salieri? It takes that long to just do your hair properly - wash, rinse, condition, rise and wash again. Oh and no idea what wellyfox is on about, they add on 30 seconds (or at least they're supposed to) for every sub.

The Doctor Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 - nah, I just love my hair. I need to have a few layers taken out of it, which would involve breaking my longest streak between trips to the hairdressers (last visited in August 2010). Still, it's important for it to be well washed in order to keep it under control.
