Delusions of grandeur indeed, as are many of the fans - deluded. He can only work with what he's got and what he's got is no better than a mid-table side. £11 million spent or not. That's it. Just because £11 million was spent, half of which was due to over-inflated transfer fees paid, does not give us a divine right to walk this league. You can't judge NP until he ships out a load of players and sorts it out. Walk it I'd be happy if we was crawling it instead of running the other way as we are atm DOWN. Maybe I wasn't being very clear getting rid of the deadwood : Wellens, Oakley, Howard, Dyer, Gallagher, would be a start. A playmaker, defensive midfielder, two wingers and a mobile target man and we would look a better propostion.

But the management must know by now what the squad of players they have on the books are like, so why hasn't there been some action in the transfer market already and a list of OUTS presented.The backroom team must know young, strong, up and coming players with potential from the lower leagues, who would jump at the chance to move up, get them in now and start building A TEAM, it was done before by M O'N, don't wait N P until the last day of the transfer market.

iancognito Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 I'll tell you what needs to change - the expectation level around the place. It is way too high for where we've been in recent years. As a club, we had a purple patch between 1992 and 2002, with cup runs, promotions and unfeasibly high finishes for a club our size. But that's all it was, a purple patch. It's gone and apart from the season under Pearson where we just gathered momentum, we've had nothing since to justify the notion that we deserve better/more. We've been out of the top flight for 10 years and we're not even a yo-yo club any more. Time to drop this idea that because we have a decent fanbase and a 30K+ capacity, that the club belongs higher. The days of too good for this league but struggle in the top flight are over. We're an average Championship club amongst 20-odd other average Championship clubs. Having rich owners doesn't mean anything and I'm getting to be of the opinion that the players we have here aren't really that good and when they come up against anyone with more backbone they fold like a soggy newspaper. I'm going back to the attitude of win = great, defeat = meh, whatever. In another thread the other day I called the Brighton & Barnsley games, nothing-to-play-for, mid-table fayre and said I'd rather spend the money on a Forest cup ticket. As we're on for a season of LLDWLWDdWLLLdWLLL, I'm glad I did as we've certainly got more chance in the Cup than we have in the league this season.

Sacking Sven was the right idea, he really was working at a level he knew nothing about. It's just a shame that Davies & Jones were ignored and Warnock wasn't available sooner. Proven managers who regularly get their players challenging and more importantly winning at this level. Half of this squad would sh!t themselves if they had a Warnock team talk.

He has utterly failed to motivate the squad, both as a team, and as individuals. It seems he simply is not managing at al, and are sliding into oblivion. Well done Mr P. and thanks for all you are not doing! THIS. When NP arrived he was instructing players and constantly being involved in the game .... always waving his arms around with instructions and motivating the players. Today the only thing he lacked was the brolly to be as distant from his mess as McClaren was.

By the end of Feb we'll be on the merry go round again. Let's hope they choose for footballing reasons not to please the fans that know nothing about football apart from who's been at Leicester before.

I've changed my mind about him now .... 3 loanees from his last tenure as boss. Oh, did he also sign Wellens, Gallagher, Dyer, on long term deals?? Did he also play them today?? Have they improved under him?

If he has then use them ffs .... we are in dire need of something to change and it's two weeks into the transfer window with no sign of anything happening. I beg to differ, they really are that bad.
