"James is a player who is proven at the top level," said the Sky Blues boss. "He has a lot of qualities and can play in a variety of positions across the front line. I worked with him at Leicester and I know that he will be a very valuable addition to our squad."

From the Cov site... on Scowy...

Micky Adams has made his first new signing of the summer after James Scowcroft agreed a three-year deal with Coventry City subject to passing a medical.

The attacking midfielder is set to join the Sky Blues on a free transfer after his contract with Leicester City came to an end last month.

Scowcroft spent four years with the Foxes, where he played under Adams, making 147 appearances and scoring 28 goals.

The 29-year-old started his career at Ipswich Town where he scored 55 goals in 248 games and he rejoined the Tractor Boys on a three-month loan at the end of last season, notching up another nine  appearances.

Adams said that the signature of Scowcroft is excellent news for Coventry City.

"James is a player who is proven at the top level," said the Sky Blues boss. "He has a lot of qualities and can play in a variety of positions across the front line. I worked with him at Leicester and I know that he will be a very valuable addition to our squad."

Also....

City fans are again backing Micky Adams' men in there thousands ahead of the new campaign, with season ticket sales soaring by the day.

And with the 2005/2006 season being the first at the new state-of-the-art Ricoh Arena, fans are making sure they have a guaranteed seat for what promises to be an exciting season.

So far 7,795 season tickets have been sold, which is over 3,000 more than the amount at this stage of last season, and once again represents the fans' support of Adams and the squad following what was a difficult campaign last time out.

Looks like we are doing pretty well with almost 14,000 sold.

Not sure why everyones laughing that much. Scowy isn't bad player just lacked hunger in his last 6 months with us. He started last season with a rocket up his ass but think the MA departure hit him hard.

He's crap. If he scores more than 10 goals next season for them i'll get myself a ginger step son.

another chance to languish on the sidelines not knowing what position to play in!

To be honest I had forgotten he had ever existed, he was rarely good and not prolific, neither a striker or a winger, merely a luxury special teams man who could occasionally head a ball in the right direction form 3 yards out. bring him on for free kicks and corners and you might get 5 goals a season, he should play inthe NFL or somewhere ... shame they dont need headers!! lol

If he can't stay "hungry" on the ridiculous wages he and his kind get (for being fairly ordinary footballers) then I'm glad he's gone back to his friend in Coventry. The least a club should expect is 100 per cent day in, day out. Only Scowcroft could answer how good or bad his own commitment was but slackers are bad enough on £10,000 a year

let alone nearer £10,000 a week.

If it's possible, I actually agree with both points. Maybe hunger isn't the right word. Plenty of our attacks (rightly or wrongly) came with a long ball planted on his head but he did drop off quite badly in numbers of headers won. Was it hunger or form he lacked? I think it's more form and the fact that we became very very predictable.

I think he'll do well at Coventry and good luck to him! I think its safe to say we can all put money on him scoring against us this season along with Tricky Trevor!

Benjamin left wing, Scowcroft right wing, happy days!
