How many LCFC players live local?

Yeah but again Gally has been a player for a long time now in modern footballing terms hasn't he ever thought of moving here? look at Stevie G he's being made an ambassador after he retires he's born and bred Scousse and he has a connection with the fans that is flagged as one of the greatest shouldnt we expect the same? Nevielle with Manchester Jamie Carra also good examples of these players who are their team the stereotypical badge kisser

The 3 players you've mentioned there all came through their clubs academys, Gally came through Blackburns. Of course Gerrard will have a special connection with Livepool fans, he's been there so long and as you say he's born and bread scouse. Gally has been with us 2 and a half years.

I think I saw on Gallys wifes twitter a few months ago that they were looking for a house to buy down here, think that was when he signed his new contract.

Is it the same for Peltier?

I'd imagine so, they may share an appartment I'm not sure.

It's a good point i guess i'm asking if the distance not just travel wise but county community wise is one of the many reasons for the given frustration and hostility not even the Owners are in this country at the minute to watch home games! i just think this is odd behaviour

I am a big fan of players living local. I think that the players who do not live local will not feel how much it means to the local community when we do loose. Players working with, helping and living within the community is essential.

I know Aston Villa have instructed their players to live within a certain distance, and I certainly think Nigel should adapt this at Leicester.

If I was a player signing for LCFC I wouldn't dream of moving houses if it was commutable not with the merry go round of managers and players we have.

not to mention the abuse they have been getting recently

this is a point i'm trying to make we are leicester when those 11 players step out on the pitch its our city we feel it a lot more when we lose than they seem to do atm

but the point i'm trying to make is wheather its a reason for this frustration and lack of understanding is that becasue they aren't here to see the impact losing has on the City and the fans they don't really care it's out of sight out of mind in a way.

If footballers are paid vast sums of money then surely in there contracts they are offered a relocation package therefore being paid £10k plus a player should be told that part of their contract is that they live within the community they play in as the community pay their wages!! Granted Gallagher and Wellens may have flats or stay in hotels however this cannot be good for them not being around there family's!

The players not living in the area means they can escape the local atmosphere and also suffer fatigue, when signing a player who is paid a lot of money top n the manager should insist they live in the area! That goes for the manager too

Dont Gally and Wellens travel from Manchester way? Surely that cant be any good, extra fatigue with travelling etc etc

BINGO thats why he is fvcking tired and can't train.

And if rumours were correct was what Sven wanted to sort just before Millwall.

Players loose form and we should stick by them.

But tired at 31 FFS Beckham flies round the world for England games was he moaning.

Wellens if your TIRED fvcking MOVE.

I heared Tunchev lives at freemans meadow.

Might be bullshit though.

I saw Tunchev shopping around on Narborough road on a Saturday evening last year, so I guess he must be pretty local

i agree with the general point you are making, wasnt it O'Neill who insisted players lived within a certain distance of the City?

It was Brian Little I think that insisted that all players live locally,..certainly seemed to have a positive effect then

This is a good point to be fair. If you make the commitment (financially and otherwise) to get a house and set up a life in the Leicester area, then you're naturally going to show more commitment to having a long and successful career at the club.

Yes I saw Tunchev around Leicester when he was injured in a sponsored Fiat Bravo.

so the picture we are being faced with is that you have 2 players from Manchester 2 from Liverpool a manager from Solihull and then they hold training twice a week here? There are still players not commented on such as konch Kasper Beckford nuge etc but is this what we want/need for success I stress that I don't know if this is the norm or if clubs have rules for this but I keep bringing back the point that in my honest opinion it's good for the community to have its team here in the city to see there faces to see there money coming back into the counties and city to keep the wheels turning in every party of the city yet this doesn't seem to be happening. I'm not saying that they have a duty but maybe after Pearson "delusions comment" maybe he should take a walk around the KP and ask some fans or staff how there weekend went and maybe him and the players would get a sense of perspective of what it means to play for Leicester city. How can they know if they don't even live here? :(

they dont train twice a week.. whilst it may be easier to live locally, main reason i feel is the travelling, i dont buy this need to be local to know what the city is feeling. there professionals, they want to win each game, but there players not fans.

It's a valid point definitely, although the game has changed a lot since the Elliot days (he used to live near me in C'thorpe, and Muzzy lived in Fleckney).

I know that some players are finding the social life hard, Beckford for example tends to keep to himself. But then there are players I know of that hang out a lot (the Nandos gang).

I know they aren't fans but isn't that bad? It sounds like there just players for hire coming from different cities they turn up and do a job and then go home bad day at the office oh well, I'm guessing this is why a lot of them have stopped using twitter since the Barnsley game bar some it's the only outlet some fans have and I just think if people were able to see Gally or Wellens in the street they would see how it affects them and instead of abusing them I can guarantee you 100% that any keyboard coward abusing players and their wives if they saw them face to face they would be completely different because there shallow little people. at the minute it seems like we are the only ones feeling frustrated and angry and the atmosphere at the KP is turning ugly because of this. I guess my logic is that the easiest way to show players who they are playing for and why they should give 100% is for them to atleast live in the same city as us
