Sam Allardyce is desperate to bolster his forward line as he looks to keep the Hammers on course for a return to the Premier League. He has been linked with a number of players this winter but has been frustrated in his efforts to secure targets such as Nikica Jelavic, and has switched his focus elsewhere. While Genoa striker Ze Eduardo has arrived ahead of a potential transfer, West Ham are also understood to have contacted Championship rivals Leicester regarding the availability of Beckford. Beckford only joined the Foxes in the summer after a season with Everton in the Premier League, while he had previously plied his trade with Leeds.

You really do say some sillly things, you do realise Pearson tried to sign Beckford when he was with us in his first spell. He obviously does rate Beckford.
