Happy Fox Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 http://www.dailymail...o=feeds-newsxml Leicester will make a move for Cardiff defender Anthony Gerrard if they can sell either £5.5m record signing Matt Mills or Sean St Ledger. Manager Nigel Pearson wants a clearout of the expensive buys brought in under Sven Goran Eriksson and striker Jermaine Beckford has been told he can leave. Surely not
Gold Coast Fox Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 Daily mail is always good for a laugh or two
Guest shearfox Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 They certainly have played like they are on their way out this past week...
cc_star Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 As the 2 year plan to bankroll the club into the Prem looks challenging perhaps he's here to not only hopefully climb the league but reduce the wage bill whilst doing so. If Abe's wages are true it might be fair to assume the two key signings of the summer are around that figure too. Total bollocks of course, but in footie you never know
OzFox Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 They certainly have played like they are on their way out this past week... Was thinking the same. Classic case of shop window syndrome
Happy Fox Posted 24 January 2012 Author Posted 24 January 2012 This would be criminal by NP though in football you never know this is most likely to be bullshit well here is hoping.

OzFox Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 Pearson's first job after relegation was to clear out overpaid "stars" and get the wage bill down. Possibly he's been asked to do it again.
Jaspa Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 I fully expect either Ledge or Bamba to leave by Feb. Beckford and Mills are here for the rest of the season, integral members of a now functioning team. Daily Mail should stop spouting trouble making lies, absolute disgrace of a paper.

My Money is definitely on Bamba being sold. He isnt here, we are doing well without him, he is playing in a tournament being shown around the world and starting for the tournament favorites.... Who kept a clean sheet in their first game... i would be EXTREMLY suprised if we dont get a £3m+ bid for him soon....
FoxesRoyal Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 I Cant See AnyOne Else Of The First Team Leaving In Jan e.g. Bamba plus Why would he play mills st ledger and beckford tonight? he just wouldn't if he was planning to get rid!

I was thinking the same too But this continued transfer listing or Ledge is confusing it for me. If they both end up going, i dont want us scrambling for replacements in the twighlight of the window. Hopefully Ledge has now proven he's worth a place with us, and we can form a solid defence again under Nige.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 Neither Mills nor Beckford will leave. I've got a feeling Bamba will though. If not him SSL. Ones going.

Ultra Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 Can't imagine the Mail would have run with such a story, without checking it with the Mercury (its sister paper) first. But who, other than Premier clubs, would be able to afford either Mills or Beckford - or their wages?
Nick Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 Wouldn't surprise me at all if this were true. Something's not been right with both of those players and NP - just not been able to put my finger on quite what it is.
Richard Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 It says that we'd accept a bid for the pair, no names mentioned or whether they even want to leave. I think we all know that if a decent offer came in for either of them then we'd accept, but who's gonna want them on astronomical wages? I'm confident they'll both be here by February 2nd
Libertine Dream Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 Neither of them will go and Id be very annoyed if they did go.

LCFCCHRIS Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 In a interview after the game, mills said about how players want to prove how commited they are to the club (look on the Lcfc youtube channel) i really hope mills or beckford stay, beckford has just started trying properly and mills looked quite good against southampton. (and he scored ) Mills and beckford*
Ric Flair Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 Yes that's right Pearson's going to get rid of Mills, his captain after instantly restoring him to the side and causing the ruck with St Ledger after stating " Mills is my captain, the captain of Leicester City " Utter guff.
