Krimbinho Posted 25 January 2012 Posted 25 January 2012 I've read that he's injured but never how long he's out for... Now it would be his chance with our injury crisis, susch a shame because I think he's not a bad player. P.S.: Sorry if there is already a topic, I searched but didn't find anything.

Krimbinho Posted 25 January 2012 Author Posted 25 January 2012 "not fit" is the words NP used, same for Oakley Merc Nigel Pearson insists it would have been wrong to stand in the way of midfielder Yuki Abe's return to Japan. The 30-year-old midfielder has had his contract cancelled on compassionate grounds after he expressed a wish to return to Japan to spend more time with his family. Yuki Abe City manager Pearson confirmed the Japan international's wife was expecting their second child and said the termination of his contract, which had 18 months still to run, was at Abe's request. Pearson could have blocked the move as he is short on midfield cover after a spate of injuries, but said it would have been wrong to do so. He will now look to sign a replacement. "The event has been driven by him and in regard to the circumstances it would have been wrong to stand in his way," said Pearson. "We will now look to bring someone else in maybe. "He is a lovely lad and he has served the club well in the 16 months or so he has been here. "He clearly had to put his own priorities first and we wish him all the best for his future. "I was asked in a press conference after the Barnsley game about Yuki and it came out of the blue. It came out of thin air. "I don't really know the details in terms of how that has developed. On compassionate grounds as much as anything. "His wife is expecting a child, and the area of Japan he is from has had to deal with horrific events over the last 12 months. He was in a position where he felt he had to be back at home. "I think it is a shame in some ways but the most important thing is his family." Pearson's injury concerns have grown after Paul Gallagher had to be substituted in the first half of Monday's victory at Southampton because of a back injury. He joined fellow midfielders Andy King, Matt Oakley and Frank Moussa in the treatment room, while Michael Johnson is not fit enough for action. However, the signing of Manchester United midfielder Danny Drinkwater, who made his City debut at St Mary's, has given Pearson a boost. Pearson said: "Gally is one of our best technical players but, unfortunately, he has picked up an annoying injury. We will just have to see how he is for the long term. "He has had this injury before. It is his back. He wanted to carry on but unfortunately he couldn't. "We are struggling for numbers now but I thought Drinkwater did very well when he went on for Gallagher. "I think that was a measure of what he is about. He prefers to play down the middle but he did a great job for us out wide." This confuses me...

Think Johnson is a class player, but with just 4 appearances over the previous THREE years to joining us & a smattering of appearances for us, surely we have to cut our losses at some point It's not like he's injured and we're waiting for his heroic return to action. He's unfit and there appears to be no end to this unfitness, which appears to be totally self-inflicted Surely it's beyond taking the piss now especially if we're paying him

It must be hilarious to manage their books and every so often they find a pile of paperwork and see another name blow dust off it and reads "Johnson,M" and they realise they've found another player that they have forgot about paying every week

His months of work at rehab haven't helped as he's been suffering since he was branded "one of Englands most promising youngsters" or something similar. I have a link ti City who confirmed this
