Swindon FA Cup Matchday Thread

Wellens and Danns played well for the first 15, other than that we've not really had any players playing well. Gallagher could do with being subbed.

My assessment too, almost everyone's poor except Kasper & SSL.

Whilst we started the match with movement & desire to get to the ball first the midfield could pass the ball to people, but for last half hour Swindon are first to the ball this means we have no outlets.

We need to knuckle down & get back that desire to be first to every ball & fight to be in front of your man to receive a pass, if that happens we can push on, but if we don't fight for to be open to passes it's going to be a very long half indeed.

Let's not forget they're great at their level & this is a cup final for them, it was always going to be more difficult than people gave it credit for, but without the fight we had against Forest & S'ton we're making it harder than it should be

Being fair to gally he probably isn't 100% but he has looked poor so far. Swindon will score this half - like the look of Caddis and Ritchie - surely deserve better than league two.

Quite a bit to do at halftime

We've lost the work-rate that saw us dominate Forest & Southampton, we need to get it back to be safe.

Still, we're winning against a side who's only lost once is on over 20 games who are playing their cup-final today.

NP just needs to instill the workrate back into the team

This is bang on. Wellens' drive from the previous games has gone and he is sitting deeper than Danns who is holding. Back to his old tricks I think. Strikers are too isolated.

Nige will yell at them and I hope they come out (Phil) geed up.

Midfield lite first half. They're winning the 50/50s and playing with more purpose.

Di Canio's good value though. Most decisions gone their way as the refs afraid of a post match headbutt from the Italian nutter.

Midfielders need to get the ball in quicker more often.

how many back passes can a midfielder make.

Danns is having a good game though, overall I'm happy.

The commentators on Fox are terrible, but they made one valid point. The distance between our back four and the midfielders is way too big. The problem is not only that there’s a complete unwillingness from our CM’s to get back there and make themselves available, which makes it difficult to create chances, but that this also makes us incredibly vulnerable if Swindon counter attacks.

And when they do get the ball, there is such an obvious lack of creativity. Not to mention the passing, which have been woeful.

Who have you got as commentators? Gary O'Reilly?
