Darkon84 Posted 29 February 2012 Posted 29 February 2012 That Croatia kit is dangerously sexy! And as stated, wonderful piece of marketing there. Love it!
AyewJoking Posted 8 March 2012 Posted 8 March 2012 England shirt is ok but compared to some of the other national shirts on display it looks very lazy and unimaginative. Wouldnt be surprised if ours is more expensive to buy.
NeilyBoy Posted 8 March 2012 Posted 8 March 2012 And the London 2012 Match Ball: First the crappy logo, then those amorphous mascots which have nothing to do with London or England (and don't even have the saving grace of being slightly cute), then we had the tickets and Olympic lanes fiasco and now this. If I didn't know any better I'd say the BOA were going out of their way to make us a laughing stock.

Wenlock - First recorded Olympics were in 776 BC in Athens, but it was a Frenchman, Baron Pierre de Coubertin, who was the founder of the modern Olympics. De Coubertin was invited to watch the traditional 'Olympian Society Annual Games' in Much WENLOCK, which were organised by Dr William Penny Brookes. De Coubertin always paid tribute to the role that the Wenlock Games played in the foundation of the modern Olympics. He said in 1896, 'if the Olympics exist today, the praise should not go to a Greek, but to Dr Brookes of Wenlock. Mandeville - in 1948, Dr Ludwig Guttmann organised a wheelchair archery competition at Stoke MANDEVILLE hospital for WW2 soldiers with spinal cord injuries. The competition took place between clubs and other hospitals on the same day as the Opening Ceremony of the 1948 Games. 4 years later, as more sports were added, athletes from Holland joined in and the International Paralympic movement was born. BAM.

BAM. I did actually know all that but it's pretty redundant when you have to actively research them after seeing what they look like to figure out what their relation actually is to the host nation/games. Also - those are only the names: Why didn't they stick those symbolic names onto a British Bulldog with a union flag bow-tie and a badger with a bowler hat on for instance? Here's what the official description of them is: "Drops of steel with cameras for eyes." Very British.

One of the aims of LOCOG is to keep tradition and so they may have seen this as one avenue of doing so? I don't know, mate. Perhaps they didn't want to be too clichéd or predictable? Fvck knows what that description is all about .
Kitchandro Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 England kit is a disgrace. As usual they've barely changed it and charging people a fortune. Horrendously boring like a lot of kits these days. Cna't say I'm overly keen on these nike ones but the US one I do like. adidas
Kitchandro Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 These are the kind of beauties adidas used to come out with Just to show that 3 stripes can be put in other places other than the top of the sleeve. Shame they can't mix it up a bit.

Master Fox Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 Good to see England have the worst kit in the world. Great job umbro. Some of the Nike Kits (Holland, Oz, NZ) lovely.
lcfcadam Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 I hope you're joking...I mean, you must be. Do NOT get into a discussion / debate / argument with Kitch about football shirts. It's a dangerous road to go down...

Darkon84 Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Ok, so I've just seen this on the Yahoo website, which is the kit the GB football team will be wearing, as designed by Stella McCartney. I thought there as already a kit launched? What was the one Aaron Ramsey was modelling and has been available in Sports Soccer etc??

NeilyBoy Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 This has to be a wind up? They can't have that much contempt for football supporters can they?
Darkon84 Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 This one .... yep, that one indeed. i saw it in sports soccer for about £40 -£45, what an absolute joke. i feel for anyone that bought it. crock of shite
Raw Dykes Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 New England kit is better than the current one. White and Red = England, St George etc. None of this light blue shite. I disagree. Yeah, the flag is white and red, but we're not talking about that. The kit has always been white and navy blue. This is the first time England's home kit has had no blue on it. The new kit is rubbish, but at least it won't be around for long.
AyewJoking Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Team GB shirt is quite good, totally overpriced though you'd have to be a moron to buy it.
Guest Bilo Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Should really have kept it simple. That said, it might not be that moronic a purchase. It's the kind of shirt that could become a collector's item in years to come as I think it'll be a while before there's another Great Britain national football team.
Finnegan Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 It's only a "fans kit" it won't be worn at all. I can't be arsed to dig out a photo but the actual kit has just been released and it's much better than that.
