foxfanazer Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Anyone a fan of nirvana here? I absolutely love listening to their music. Kurt Cobain has gotta be one of the most influential musicians of all time and an unbeleivable vocalist
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 No there isnt any fans on here sorry mate.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Foo Fighters are better Only second to Nirvana in my opinion, though they have a lot more songs and albums.

Uncle Phil Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 I'm not a huge fan, but I just bought a Jesus Lizard split that has Nirvana on the other side. Looking forward to hearing it.

I am Rod Hull Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Not a fan so to speak, but loved this....
Uncle Phil Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 That song will be 'Oh, The Guilt'. Great song. Not bad that, cheers. It's pretty noisey
Captain... Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Loved 'em, still do I guess, I do wonder what they would have been like had he not tried to eat a shotgun, (or was killed by Courtney Love, depending on how you see it). Would like to think they would have continued producing quality music and not conforming to the mainstream (much like the Pixes), but I think that Kurt in particular would have disappeared up his own arse in a blitz of drug abuse and depression and probably become the kind of band/person he hated (i'm thinking Axl Rose). We will never know, I think the Foo Fighters have been a fitting legacy to Nirvana, although I have lost interest in them for since Echoes Silence Patience and Grace bored me to tears.
lcfcadam Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Foo Fighters are better Think Nirvana were over-rated I really, seriously, desperately hope you're just kidding...
Langston Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Pearl Jam were better: Both 'grunge' as such and both major players of the whole Seattle scene but actually pretty incomparable in terms of sound. It'd be like me comparing Mudhoney to Nirvana for the same reason. Your post did encourage me to listen to Yellow Ledbetter, though. Great track. Whacking on Temple of the Dog now to marvel at Chris Cornell's voice and what he used to do with it pre-2003 when all his output became garbage.
MikeyT Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Yep always liked them. Favourite songs are Aneurysm, Rape Me and Heart Shaped Box. To name but a few.
rico Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 I really, seriously, desperately hope you're just kidding... You're so wrong though

Some opinions are weird though...
eaststandtom Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 for a 3 piece 'punk' band to deliver an album like in utero is a testament to how far they could push their limitations. Not musically but with vibe .songs with depth, soul and all delivered with utter simplicity.
