NottsFox Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Just my opinion but... Why don't we play this just before kick off like Forest play "Mull of Kintyre" ? I think it helps build up an atmosphere just as kick off begins and gets everybody going. Hey jude just doesn't do it for me. Far to many people don't join in and it just sounds very light-hearted. Great result today anyway. Up the foxes!!
Libertine Dream Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Probably because Jersey Budd's version is utter tosh and any other version is too quick(that I've heard)
NottsFox Posted 11 February 2012 Author Posted 11 February 2012 Probably because Jersey Budd's version is utter tosh and any other version is too quick(that I've heard) Fair point... But something must be better than hey jude. I think it is just boring!
Happy Fox Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 The classical version of WYS is the best imo, old school but certainly would sound better.
Libertine Dream Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 No doubt Hey Jude is boring, most of the time the away fans outsing us on it.
anotherharboroughfox Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Do we really need the music? Are we incapable of singing it without a PA system telling us to?
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 We always play it, they played it today and showed the crowd
Kitchandro Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Do we really need the music? Are we incapable of singing it without a PA system telling us to? You know we are. If they played the Dean Martin/Louis Armstrong version it would be perfect to sing along to. Just imagine the crowd singing along to it in tune
MattyFromLE Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Heard L1 giving it a good blast today. Sounded awesome!
jonlcfc1990 Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 WYS is ours but I hate what BUDD did to it bloody murderer

The Year Of The Fox Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 The Jersey Budd version is too slow. What they should do is record a version where a lot of our fans are signing it at a better tempo. They could hand out song sheets for all those who prefer 'we love'
Arkie Bennett Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 That opportunist Budd's version isn't even the right melody.
Vlad the Fox Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 I've said it before but kasabian's L S F Would sound great.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 I've said it before but kasabian's L S F Would sound great. Very much aware that I'll get slated for this but... I can't bloody stand Kasabian - to my ear their music sounds all the same, depressing sounds but worst of all, slow and boring. Does my head in that they are from here because it seems everybody I know always has a story about how they know Serge or how Tom went to their school or how they all knew eachother but funnily enough now they are successful and famous they dont any more... Plus the goal music is crap (I mean having goal music is crap anyway but if your gonna have it I wouldn't choose this!) To on then, GO!
Vlad the Fox Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 It would be a dull place if everyone liked the same things and personally I would rather us not have goal music but fire is less intrusive than the awful chelsea dagger that we used to have. As for lsf if you look on youtube at a live performance, forget if you like them or not, and imagine the end of the song echoing around the kp. Would sound great in my opinion. I dont necessarily mean for goal music, we should just do it.
artursteppe Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 'When your smiling', don't know it. I do know the song 'When you're smiling' though, it's a song about when people are smiling it often becomes infectious and others will smile with you, as in when 'YOU ARE' ( you're ) smiling, get it?
flowwolf Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 A song that would be more in keeping with being a Leicester fan would be Frank Sinatra's High Hopes. " cause we've got High hopes we've got high hopes we've got high apple pie in the sky hopes " It would be great to hear everyone singing that before a kick off and it would be unique to our club instead of borrowed stuff.

My apologies mate
Nick Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 I agree with the need for originality I think that's a great point, unsure about the 'high hopes' suggestion as it may be on the verge of comedic, kinda "oops there goes another rubber tree plant" I'm thinking something more uplifting on the lines of 'you'll never walk alone, welsh valleys choir hymns at the rugby, etc' I'm trying to think of something that we could get behind that had a bit of umph, class, resilience and strength that would also be original....... Any ideas?

I dont necessarily mean for goal music, we should just do it. I'm with you on this. Was at their Nottingham gig recently, and the atmosphere was amazing when this started echoing around the arena. Not only that but this would be unique to ourselves, and even if other clubs copied us it would make no difference as everyone knows the connection between Kasabian and Leicester. This would definitely get my support.

Any ideas? Yes well we could keep the main lines to high hopes but put some clever words to the rest , like whoops there goes another Forest manager ect. ( not that that's very clever )

Voll Blau Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 People badmouth the Kop on here a lot but when I've been in there for the two Cup games this year WYS has been sung a few times a game at just the right tempo. Saw all the J Block standers doing it at the Swindon game, looks class when everyone does it with the choreo.
