Rincewind Posted 24 February 2012 Posted 24 February 2012 Just typed out one of my latest stories. Put it in PDF. Done it in word but cant seem to get the pages right I want the odd page numbers on the right but they start on the left. Gradually working it out. Copied The one I just did on to my Blogger. http://i-iz-a-writer.blogspot.com/2012/02/hot-air-balloon-by-ken-p-duddle-its.html
Rincewind Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 I have put four of my stories ( the 3 pals ones) into PDF. Now looking somewhere to duisplay them in an EBook form. Tried two web hosing sites. The fist I am struggling with. Needed to dowload ftp and having to wait for it to set up. The second can't see where I can import PDF files. I do have a Yola site that supports PDF and I have some stuff on but cant find the link on my PC. The link to the site may be just on my laptop. The stories are seperate atm but I should be able to link them together which would make around 30 pages. I may have enough material but its just deciding how to do them. All together seperate poetry stories with or without the four I mentioned or all of the above.
Rincewind Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 I have put my ale tales togethe a collection of four stories. They are in PDF and I sent to my email to check so its ready to send out. If anyone wants a copy PM me your email address. Its free atm unless you want to donate to to something. I will try and get a bigger collection for proper selling. The PDF is 32 pages and the prints a reasonable size. I have called it The Three Cask O Beers and it features Boozer the all knowing all seeing dog. The first intro page The main characters MIKE: A well loved local character, best renowned for his knowledge of fine ales and the ability to sample most new ones on a good day. ROBERT: Retired now, he spends his time fiddling with computers when not avoiding his talkative wife or accompanying his pals to their favourite pubs. CUTHBERT: Better known as Dangler to those that know him best is the third of our trio. He has been blind for a number of years and just able to see the outline of a pint glass which for which he has been thankful. He is always accompanied by his faithful dog Boozer, his eyes and some say his brains too. I have just put the Ebook on Ebay twice. Selling for Cancer Research. There has to be a minimum of £1 donated so had to start at that price. Would rather have sold for a lot less. I can change to a local charity or more than one but need the contact details if they are not on the list.
Rincewind Posted 27 February 2012 Posted 27 February 2012 think I'm going to start on my poetry Ebook now or stories not sure which.
The People's Hero Posted 27 February 2012 Author Posted 27 February 2012 I might start a book for men about the experience of labour childbirth. Actually, thats a rubbish idea. I think you'd need to go through thousands of them!
Fox92 Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 I won a writing competition at LCFC, when I was about 13/14 I think. Had to write a report on a game (I'm into writing, designing and editing) and I ended up winning. The club gave me 4 tickets to watch Leicester v Leeds at the Walkers although I had (and still have) a season ticket. All the effort Anyway, good luck with it. Writing can be quality. I'd love to write children's books or something.

Guest Posted 20 March 2012 Posted 20 March 2012 I enjoy blogging; it's great for getting the odd rant out of the way. Sadly, my blogs are not fictional. I've also downloaded iBook Author for my Mac, and I am thinking of ideas for a book or three. Getting round to actually writing one is a completely different matter, however...

sphericalfox Posted 20 March 2012 Posted 20 March 2012 It was linked, in the thread about those Muslim girls. Like a spoiled chid I refuse to use the search function. I remember that thread, it may be pages upon pages, where I'll not find it anyways due to having to look in the first place. <stamps feet>
