AoWW Posted 21 February 2012 Posted 21 February 2012 Retured home from work only then to get a text from my Mum asking if I wanted to go to hers for pancakes on my way home . (I'd driven past her door about half an hour before!) You're too bloody late, woman! So, I've now got a properly mardy strop on and am determined to make them myself. Anyone able to give me a clue how I make them? I used to know... but I've forgotted.

I'm having tesco's pancake mix ones once I can be bothered to go and get something to eat.
The People's Hero Posted 21 February 2012 Posted 21 February 2012 Adding baileys to the mixture is nice. Adding brandy or whisky to the mixture is also nice. I'm not actually a huge pancake fan and we're having curry tonight.
AoWW Posted 21 February 2012 Posted 21 February 2012 Buy some Yorkshire puddings and squash them between 2 plates. Job done.. Egg, flour, milk and a little sugar. Yeah, I know that, but in what proportions? Proportions matter, surely? And I really cba to go out and buy pancake mix.
Libertine Posted 21 February 2012 Posted 21 February 2012 Yeah, I know that, but in what proportions? Proportions matter, surely? And I really cba to go out and buy pancake mix. Google is your friend. Delia has a simple one on BBC Good Food.
AoWW Posted 21 February 2012 Posted 21 February 2012 I know, I was just being lazy. And I'm not sure I like Delia after the ticketing fiasco.

Fox92 Posted 21 February 2012 Posted 21 February 2012 And I'm not sure I like Delia after the ticketing fiasco. Nigella Express?
Saxondale Posted 21 February 2012 Posted 21 February 2012 We had the ready made mix where you just add water. Bloody brilliant. It sort of felt a bit of a cheat but they did turn out nice! Lemon and sugar - classic.
AoWW Posted 21 February 2012 Posted 21 February 2012 I did mine the proper way in the end. None of this ready-mix malarkey. Invention of the evening was mojito pancakes.
The Doctor Posted 21 February 2012 Posted 21 February 2012 I did mine the proper way in the end. None of this ready-mix malarkey. Invention of the evening was mojito pancakes. go on...
Alexikokopops Posted 21 February 2012 Posted 21 February 2012 Lemon and sugar all the way. I'm going to try and persuade my colleagues that My Old Dutch is on the cards for Friday. What a glorious place. The smoked duck one is the ****ing tits http://www.myolddutch.com

AoWW Posted 22 February 2012 Posted 22 February 2012 go on... Dark rum, brown sugar, lime juice. Probably should have added a couple of sprigs of fresh mint but I didn't have any and decided it wasn't all that important.
