Lets all laugh at Cardiff

It's a pretty pointless debate, isn't it? It's clear that both sides have a contingent of knuckle-dragging morons (read 'anyone who perpetuates the political tension between the two clubs') and they're both as bad as each other.

I covered that here. Every game I've been to descends into it.

don't think it's a minority on either side to be honest, we both love it, we're all "90 minute bigots" when we play each other and we all behave like toerags

Looking forward to it. Never met a Gers fans embarrassed by it.

Thankfully, I think that says more about the company you keep than Rangers fans. There's a reason the club wish it would stop and it's not just fear of litigation.

I think both clubs want to remove any sort of link to Northern Ireland, If the club were actually ashamed of the salute I doubt they would have put together a reasoned response to UEFA after the usual fringe group lot started bombarding them with the "Rangers are evil racist fascist evil racist Nazi's" e-mails.

They defended themselves because they were skint and didn't need the fines, nor expulsion from Europe.

If it was an important part of Ulster culture and meant anything of value they would have defended it properly and not repeatedly asked their fans to stop.

It's a fascist salute started by right wing, hardline supporters with NF ties from the eighties and probably a few impressionable, easily lead kids who don't realize how offensive it is.

There is no Ulster salute.

.... it's such a pointless debate you decided to wade in and agree with me?

I can always disagree with you if that makes you feel better ;)

I love the irony of the Israel flag in the picture.

Only if you believe the nonsense it's a Nazi Salute.

Big difference....

Denial's not a North African waterway, Matthew. Methinks thou doth protest like a young man who hath been giving said salute with a bit too much vigor.

Is it the sting of shame fuelling your strong revoking hither?

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

What do you expect me to react like?

Think I'm actually going to give any legitimacy to a couple of sentences trying to link me to having sympathy with Nazi viewpoints. Keep on thinking it, keep on linking it, it's funny to watch from our viewpoint.

Not really very funny though is it? You probably really do believe it's some sort of unionist gesture, which makes you just as much a completely bigoted ****ing troglodyte anyway.

But ignorance isn't really an excuse.

Where's Foxypv when all the fun is happening?

Yep I do, I've done it in bars with Gers fans, I've done it at games with Gers fans.

You have not, you have nothing to do with Rangers or their supporters, you just sit on the outside of the tent spitting in like any other Celtic apologist.

Let's hope he pops along, I'm sure he can offer just a good a neutral viewpoint as I can. lol

I can't believe this thread has morphed into a Scottish sectarianism debate.

Back to the original point, I dislike Cardiff City as a football team. I don't dislike Cardiff (I actually like it a lot) and I don't dislike Wales or the Welsh. But they are still a highly cretinous football team. There's something inherently annoying about them these days. Doesn't help that they have the brilliant but hugely irritating Miller up front.

And just to confirm, Welsh people that maintain a bit of a dislike for the English are stuck in the past and need to grow up?

Some.

Miller's a massive improvement on what they had before - the gruesome twosome of Bothroyd and Chopra.

I'm all for being part of Britain to a point. I call myself English though, and I'd expect the entities to remain so when it comes to football. What are Cardiff Swansea etc doing in our leagues? Why aren't they playing Airbus UK away?

However, when Scotland want to become independant then I say let em go. I'm pretty sure they hold us back more than bolster our economy. The Welsh I know dislike the English intensely. So sod em. The next time they have some miners trapped underground, let them sort it themselves. Same as how some Cornish see themselves as separate from Britain or England or whatever, with their own flag etc etc, the next time one of their poxy villages springs a leak, let them sort it themsleves

C'mon boy, this has been answered so, so, so, so many times. Keep up.

However, when Scotland want to become independant then I say let em go. I'm pretty sure they hold us back more than bolster our economy.

And you'd be wrong. Before we even consider the North Sea oil, Scots contribute the most per head to Westminster.

The Welsh I know dislike the English intensely. So sod em. The next time they have some miners trapped underground, let them sort it themselves

Indeed, they don't appreciate being invaded, subjugated, attempts to destroy their culture and incorporate their history into England's - how dare they bare the slightest resentment for that! Let's not even raise a finger to help people in their time of need.

Same as how some Cornish see themselves as separate from Britain or England or whatever, with their own flag etc etc, the next time one of their poxy villages springs a leak, let them sort it themselves

So they have their own unique culture that they want to be proud of?

Great, but they are still just a county, they're part of England so unless they go and get themselves independence then, well, they're part of England.

I fail to see why you seem to think as far as UK residents go, if you're proud to be from England, great, if you're proud of another heritage you have then you should go and **** yourself. It seems an odd view point to have...

What a **** you are.

And for the ten million time, Cardiff, Swansea and co' compete in the English league system because Wales has only had an established league of any real in very modern history.
