Bert Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 Let's not. Gave a very good account of themselves. Malky Mackay has done a great job there as much I dislike them they need some credit for this as things weren't looking too good for them early on this season.
Fox92 Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 I was there at the replay in 1997 when we won the Cup and at Wembley in 2000 when we won the Cup again I mean in the future...
Guest Bilo Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 I dislike Cardiff but they did themselves and the Championship as a whole proud today. If we did the same in a domestic final I'd be more than proud of our boys.
Libertine Dream Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 Wish they'd won, can't stand to listen to Liverpool fans who have never even seen Anfield claiming their the worlds biggest club again.
Finnegan Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 I think if I supported another a club I'd probably seriously hate Leicester fans. Let's not. Gave a very good account of themselves. Webbo Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 I dislike Cardiff but they did themselves and the Championship as a whole proud today. If we did the same in a domestic final I'd be more than proud of our boys. You see, I couldn't do that. I saw us dominate Spurs in the league cup final and lose to last minute goal. I didn't feel proud just gutted. I could have accepted it easier if we had deserved to lose.
Guest Bilo Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 We were a Premiership team back then though with high expectations, and Spurs weren't actually all that far ahead of us at the time. We had every right to feel gutted as a top 10 Premiership side with realistic European aspirations. EDIT: In fact, Spurs finished two points behind us that season and we did the double over them in the league. As a Championship side with a very slim chance of playing Premiership let alone European football next season, it would be an incredible achievement to make a domestic cup final and match a top six Premiership side for two hours as Cardiff did today. Of course I'd be gutted to lose and would sulk like hell for a few days, but I'd feel pride more than anything for pushing such a team so close.
21st Century Fox Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 I dislike them intensely but they didn't do much that warrants being laughed at. As a team and a club they should be proud, but they have some of the most obnoxious, knuckle dragging fans I've ever met on away days.

I could have accepted it easier if we had deserved to lose. As I recall, MON played Heskey when he wasn't fit, left out our best defender of the time (Kaamark), and played 5-4-1 even when Spurs were down to 10 men. We had at most 2 clear chances and were caught by a sucker punch at the end. The only consolation we has is going to their place the week after in the league and giving them the battering there they should have had at Wembley.

As a team and a club they should be proud, but they have some of the most obnoxious, knuckle dragging fans I've ever met on away days. Liverpool have Luis Suarez and Kenny Dalglish. They take obnoxiousness to new levels. I'd pretty much support any team against them, except maybe Real Madrid, Rangers or Forest.
leicesterisme Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 I didn't want either team to win that match before hand but as the game went on I wanted Cardiff to win so much! Thought they were superb and gave a fantastic account of themselves, especially the two centre backs Hudson and Turner who were magnificent. Don't really see what's to laugh about though? Maybe we could if we'd actually won something recently but we haven't. Fairplay for them actually getting that far. I admire Malky Mackay for the superb job he has done there with their top players leaving in the summer.
Guest ttfn Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 Cardiff were great today. It's not their fault they got the rub of the green in a couple of matches 2 years ago. Move on. Liverpool - their players, manager and fans - have repeatedly disgraced themselves this season, and are now walking off with the first silverware of 2012. Sickening.
Guest Bilo Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 I concur with those who have said that Liverpool FC as an entity have dropped massively in my estimation this season.
steveherbe Posted 26 February 2012 Author Posted 26 February 2012 Yep, take it all back. Why the hell did I want Liverpool to win? Thinking about it, best thing would have been if that stupid arch had collapsed - obviously no-one injured or worse - and the whole thing abandoned, Decent game of footy, and no-one gets a trophy. Result.
Jordan Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 Yes, let's laugh at Cardiff, who went all the way to the final of a major competition as a second-division team and took Liverpool all the way to penalties after an incredibly gutsy performance. Real joke, that. Some people really need to let go of 2010. Yes, it really sucked to lose like that, but less than 2 years later, we have much more important things to worry about as Leicester fans than whether or not Cardiff City embarrass themselves or not at Wembley. Cardiff City didn't fvck up Yann Kermogant's penalty; that was a Leicester player's own action and it's something he and this club just have to deal with. And as much as it broke my heart, good save on Waghorn's penalty; you always have to give the goalkeeper credit there. Don't act like Cardiff City are the only team that have ever crushed Leicester's hearts, or the only team against whom we've ever been screwed over on a few referee decisions, or the only team whose fans have acted like cvnts at our fans. Leicester City have been around since 1884; all of that has probably happened at least once against most League clubs, so I don't see how Cardiff should be the special recipients of so much hate. And as for their Wembley hex: do you know how many times Leicester lost at Wembley before they finally won a game by the Twin Towers?
Trav Le Bleu Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 I wanted Cardiff to win? 1. We would of lost to the winners 2. Liverpool is full of tramps 3. Liverpool full of people who don't live (ex glory hunters) 4. A couple of my mates support Liverpool 5. Cardiff are Championship It's infested by zombies and vampires? I was wanting Cardiff to win. You won't hear the end of it from 'Pool fans.
gazfox9 Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 I wanted Liverpool to win, simply so the English league cup was won by an English side.
Ian W LCFC Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 I wanted Liverpool to win, simply so the English league cup was won by an English side. Very well said!
The Doctor Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 Very well said! Well not really. They've been playing in the English leagues for the best part of a century, and Wales is essentially part of England anyway. To the best of my knowledge they were in the English league system for quite a while before Wales actually had one, so I really don't see what the problem is bar some knuckle-draggers (Hi Mack) going "dey iz not in Ingurland, why do they play in OUR leagues?" Out of interest, do you whinge about Newport County or Wrexham way down the conference etc., or Berwick in Scottish division 2? Oh, and yep, let's laugh at a team that put in a remarkable, incredibly gutsy performance against a side much better than them, and only lost on penalties. How did we do again? So why don't'cha all grow up, get the **** over the play-offs and stop being such whiney little bitches.

Let's not be too precious about this, there are threads laughing at Arsenal, Leeds, ManUre and Rangers. Laughing at the opposition is a part of being a football fan.
Stand UP... Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 Hate Cardiff, Hate Wales...English team won...i'm laughing
Dan Posted 27 February 2012 Posted 27 February 2012 Hate both but Liverpool doing well isn't exactly a huge shock (yes, it's true), Cardiff get fvcking cocky as when they make the quarters, I couldn't bear the thought of them if they'd actually gone all the way and won.
