purpleronnie Posted 25 November 2013 Author Posted 25 November 2013 RSL was just too good for us..there's always next year. Some improvement from you lot this season though. Really wanted you lot to make it.
Bridge Posted 25 November 2013 Posted 25 November 2013 2 goals called back in 1st half were hard to take(the second was rightfully OS)but they were still the better team. 2014 schedule came out this morning..amazingly early for MLS.

Yeah I thought that was odd saying this season isnt over yet. New England for us Philly for you.
Bridge Posted 25 November 2013 Posted 25 November 2013 The MLS schedule is always worth a laugh, especially in a WC year. Only a 2 week break in June..should the U.S. advance out of the group stage several clubs will howl about missing players for big games. We have 3 straight home games in a 2 week period in May..it's fun to nitpick at the schedule. I'm not sure if we'll ever really be able to take this league serious.
21st Century Fox Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 Epic shoot-out in the MLS Cup Final. Casino Jimmy and Kansas City take it!
purpleronnie Posted 8 December 2013 Author Posted 8 December 2013 Epic shoot-out in the MLS Cup Final. Casino Jimmy and Kansas City take it! Yep at half time I thought it was going to be a complete borefest. Don't like eaither side so wasn't bothered about the result. How cold was it there? Looked freezing
AndWhat? Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 Been watching some videos of MLS fans recently and I have to say, they are pretty good aren't they?? How do even the yanks have better fans than us? I can literally not think of 1 country on this planet who have worse fans than ours.

How cold was it there? Looked freezing -5 with -12 windchill!!! I bet ESPN regretted having the open air studio. Kasey Keller looked a bit cold.
MC Prussian Posted 5 February 2014 Posted 5 February 2014 So, it's official. Beckham is leading a group that wants to establish a Miami MLS franchise by 2015: http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/26054220 Would be the first "soccer" team down there in about 14 years.
MC Prussian Posted 15 February 2014 Posted 15 February 2014 Didn't know where to put it, but QPR's Brazilian goalkeeper Julio César joins Toronto FC on loan for the rest of the season. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/26199559
Bridge Posted 8 March 2014 Posted 8 March 2014 Opening night..Portland v Philly & is pissing down with rain. Some things never change.
purpleronnie Posted 9 March 2014 Author Posted 9 March 2014 Opening night..Portland v Philly & is pissing down with rain. Some things never change. Must be one of the wettest places on earth. Portland scrape a draw, Red Bull get thrashed LA lose and Houston thrash New England All in all not a bad start.
SeCrEt FoX Posted 9 March 2014 Posted 9 March 2014 Anyone watching BT sports? Seattle Sounders Stadium is amazing.
Lamby Posted 9 March 2014 Posted 9 March 2014 Always nice to see BWP score. NYRB have 3 of our old players
Jordan Posted 9 March 2014 Posted 9 March 2014 I want Mike Petke to succeed, but NYRB could win 100-0 or lose 100-0 and I wouldn't feel a thing either way.

Jordan Posted 10 March 2014 Posted 10 March 2014 I thought you were a passionate fan of themI used to be, but my passion slowly but surely disappeared following the Red Bull acquisition,
placidcasual Posted 10 March 2014 Posted 10 March 2014 Opening night..Portland v Philly & is pissing down with rain. Some things never change. Ha - At least you could see your game on local telly (though i know you were there)
Jordan Posted 10 March 2014 Posted 10 March 2014 Ha - At least you could see your game on local telly (though i know you were there)Columbus' new TV deal/blackout rules are an absolute disgrace. Is this Precourt guy a big Time Warner Cable investor or something? Because this whole thing seems very much like a racket to coerce Crew fans to subscribe to TWC.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 10 March 2014 Posted 10 March 2014 I used to be, but my passion slowly but surely disappeared following the Red Bull acquisition, It can't help that the stadium is in the middle of no where in a snap yard. In saying that it was a good experience going to a game there.

I don't think it was more McCullers than Precourt - Most people wouldn't care if the games were available on MLS Live or Direct Kick.
Jordan Posted 10 March 2014 Posted 10 March 2014 It can't help that the stadium is in the middle of no where in a snap yard. In saying that it was a good experience going to a game there. At least the bars on Market St are a good time. They're about a 15-20 minute walk from RBA (which isn't bad for me but may be for others). That said, the stadium--despite its location between Newark and Harrison--really is in the middle of nowhere, and nothing has been done to develop the surrounding area. Going to and from RBA isn't exactly the easiest commute for me, too. And even when I was a big Metro fan, I always felt the franchise was more of a Jersey team anyway.NYCFC may have to play at a temporary site in Westchester County, most likely just a hop, skip, and a jump from where I live. Most likely, the future of the team will be at or next to Yankee Stadium, and I can take an easy train from 5 or 6 blocks from my house right there. If I have the choice between rooting for New York or New Jersey, I'm supporting NY all day, every day.
MC Prussian Posted 10 March 2014 Posted 10 March 2014 Always nice to see BWP score. NYRB have 3 of our old players Wow... that is... awesome. BWP is a pure free-wheeling goal-scoring machine. That's why you released him. Lloyd Sam couldn't hit a free-kick even if there was no wall and no goalkeeper. And Bover has never played a competitive league match for Chalton and will always live on in Addicks folklore as the guy who came on late in a League Cup game against Reading, hitting the bar. Well... awesome.
purpleronnie Posted 16 March 2014 Author Posted 16 March 2014 Well Defoe gets 2 on his Toronto Debut to win against Shittle, and Houston win again. Sweet.
