Snap.

I had to grit my teeth through a standing ovation for Torres. It was quite fun trying to guess who the City fans were around me though.

Snap aswell!! was gritting my teeth all the way through it!! never doing it again!! their support was woeful!! no witty songs just crap about torres and going to wembley

I was so angry at the performance, especially the first 20 mins. I was expecting two banks of four to try and keep everything tight at the start and we just got suicide football instead.

If you are going to give a top team like that time and space you will get torn to shreds and we did.

And for the love of god can we now relegate Gallagher to the bench after another woeful show from him the last two games.

I just could not believe how completely we failed to even try and compete with Chelsea....

Did we go after them from the off and try and catch them cold?......... Na, couldn't be arsed.

Did we set up in a different way given that we were playing a top 4(?) side?...... Nope.

Did we hussle and press, try to knock them out of their rhythm?....... Errr, not exactly.

Did we defend in depth, try and make it hard for them?........ Not at all.

What about being tough and competitive, getting in their faces, making them face a physical challenge?..... No, not that either.

I can only assume the we simply were not interested in the game at all, the biggest game of the season and we didn't give a fook!

We went out and played the same way that got us beat in Bristol and guess what, barely a quarter of an hour in and the game was all over, Chelsea did not so much 'take their foot off the gas' as switch off completely and cruise downhill all the way to Wembley.......

Pitiful score line.

Actually the score has nothing to do with it...... :nono:

Had we gone out, worked at it and made it a contest and then lost 5-2, I could actually live with that.

As it was we made no such attempt, not only did we let Chelsea walk all over us, we actually behaved like it was their devine right to do so and were simply there to make up the numbers.

That is what was pitifull.......

, I predicted 3-1 to Chelsea before the game..... We were completely out of our depth as i thought, but then we are a mid table championship side and they are still in the champions league. And the scary thing is they rested half their first team . At least we can go for the playoffs now, we need to get something out of blackpool away though. Aftter that i think we 'can' win most of the other games coming up such as posh and ipswich away. We shall see. Would be frustrating to lose on weds night and then watch our season peter out into nothingness .... :scarf:

Did I watch a different game to some of you on here? I was quite proud of the performance. We had more possession than them and also 19 shots to their 22. They played a good game and got a deserved win, but our players played a decent game. To me it just came down to the fact that their attacking was more clinical than ours. Our defence was not great but going forwards we looked dangerous.

Did anyone see the penalty appeal just before Chelsea's last goal? I am wondering how strong of an appeal it was, as with 2 mins plus injury time to go i think the response on here could have been way more positive had we have been 4-3 instead of 5-2. Just remember as well, we are mid championship and not even close to being able to compete with a resurgent Chelsea on paper.

I was quite pleased with our attacking. Although their defence looked very poor at times they are still a strong group of players and we got 2 goals and could have had more tbh. Our overall play in midfield and defence was poor though. A fair result i'd say.

Some of our play was very encouraging imo, I would hazard a guess that our team is lower prem team in the making somewhere lying from (15th-20th) obviously you cannot tell from playing prem opposition only twice in Norwich and Chelsea, so their is an awful lot of work to do, first thing first getting into the prem and hopefully this can be achieved by next season.

Didn't really feel the need to watch the highlights, but stumbled upon them today and Marshall's goal looked as beautiful as I remembered! Only thing that did stick out for me was Schmeichel doing some stupid 'split legged' action with every attempted save. I hope he gets out of that habit quick, as I'm fairly sure he could have saved at least 2 of their goals with 'normal' dives.

Yeah i'm sure you know how to goalkeep better than the best keeper in the second division.

I expected such a typical reply to be honest, feel free to watch the clips again then. If after that you can honestly tell me the best dive to perform in some of those scenarios was still the split legged, 'make yourself big' save then that is ridiculous. Schmeichel is one of my favourite players, but I do think his decision making was pretty poor against Chelsea. This was uncharacteristic of Kasper, as his decision making and positioning is usually top notch! It was something brought up by the commentators too, as well as the camera panning to his dad who didn't exactly look best pleased.

This was the only negative, from dozens of positives I took away from Chelsea. Brilliant match, and a great day out.

Im not going to be kind.

I Thought we were bloody horrendous.

Could have been 8 or 9.

Inept in some departments and seemed in awe of the players they were facing.

I was hoping what we lacked in class we would make up for in endeavour and high intensity, but we couldnt even do that.

Shame really as the fans were well up for it.

I think Raj is a miserable old git and we were bloody good.

we could have had 8 or 9.the scoreline flattered the difference

competent in all departments but seemed a little in awe of the players they were facing early on

What we lacked in class we made up for in endeavour and high intensity annd there were loads of periods in play where we were very slick indeed

Shame really as some of the fans fail to realise this

Tally -ho!! :)

Whatever turns you on Raj

Do you think that if you fully came out of the closet you'd not be such a miserable old git? :)

As long as i support Leicester i think i'll always be a miserable git.

i've got much more of an excuse than you Raj :D

i've had over a half century of it , supporting Leicester is just your excuse cuz you're in denial :);)

If i am in denial would it be as embarassing as supporting Leicester??

lol!!

I will actually be a bit positive and say that Marshalls goal was the highlight of the game and hopefully he can be rewarded with a start up tonight.....Dyers body is a VERY close 2nd tho!!!
