BoneDog Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Thought it was a good game and we showed some real class going forward at times. One of the triangles down the right in the first 7 or 8 minutes was awesome stuff. Ripped them. A great goal by Marshall and Beckford tucked his chance away nicely after Danns' effort bounced back off the post. Downsides were some poor defending and giving possession away softly a fair few times. And those two corners that didn't even get over knee height were abysmal! John Collins gave us some nice praise after the match I thought. I'm sure I heard Savage at half-time say I hope Torres gets a goal. Thought he'd want us to win but obviously not! Torres looked good and nearly scored a great goal that went an inch or two over the bar just after he'd scored his first.
Bettsj2 Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Today didnt tell us anything that we didnt already know. We cant compete with a top 6 premiership team. NEWSFLASH
21st Century Fox Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Who were the two guys up in the Upper East home stand row 17, who jumped up and celebrated both our goals? Legends. They got a mouthful from some sovreign ring wearing tw@t.
Sods Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Thought some of our fans were a disgrace first half, booing Gallagher and expecting to beat them what did we expect. I can sort of understand it away against chesterfield not Chelsea hope you feel great about yourselves.
Guest Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Do you intend to make yourself look like a total Tw*t? He passed that milestone a loooooong time ago
Saxondale Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Didn't see seven goals coming but, that aside, I suppose it went I has I feared - a few moments of genius from them undoing all our good work. Hats off to Marshall for his great goal, well done to Beckford for continuing his FA Cup scoring record and respect to the whole side for giving a reasonable account of ourselves. I think I would have preferred to have seen St Ledger at centre back. As I feared, Big Wes was being shown up for pace a bit. Other than that I don't really know what to say, other than that the fans were superb and we scored two passed Chelsea.
Saxondale Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Marshall has a foot like a traction engine. Liquid football!
Tielemans63 Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 On a completely different note, I had suspicion that Daniel Sturridge was quite a greedy player having seen him on MOTD etc. Having seen him in a live game he's even more selfish then I thought. They'd have scored about 10 if he hadn't been such a glory boy.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 "He's still ****ing shit, He's still ****ing shit, Fernando Torres, he's still ****ing shit". Great chant
reynard Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Not at all surprised by the result. We were simply outclassed pretty much all over the pitch. If you set out to play like that against a top side and don't keep possession then you're going to get stuffed and let's be honest we were. I'm not that disappointed by the result but I am by the performance. We didn't really get close to them, were outdone by pace especially in midfield and defence. The back four played like a Sunday park kids team most of the time. Yes it was entertaining but it just shows what a long way we are from having the necessary quality to make it into the premier league. I thought Kaspar was at fault for at least two of the goals. The defending for the Torres header was laughable. They beat us comfortably even without the main core of their best team. On a positive note we did look good going forwards and scored two good quality goals, provided some good entertainment for the neutral and I think we have an even clearer picture of which players we need to keep and which quite frankly can be let go. I thought our fans were fantastic with the noise they made and the support they gave the players.
21st Century Fox Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 I was in with the home fans they were going ape at Sturridge everytime he got the ball and rightly so. He was taking shot from stupid angles and running into nowhere. Torres could've had at least 5 if he'd picked him out each time. On another note, we really need to replace Lloyd if we expect to progress next season, he's more often than not a weak link in any attack. He had an alright shot today though but his delivery is so poor 9 times out of 10.
Leicesterpool Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Good game of football, one bad thing to mention the shed end was terrible I sat in the back row, and us back row had a bad view, people infront kept standing, we couldn't stand because once we stood, the low roof blocked our view. Luckly just after kick off they mainly sat.
cc_star Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 If Bamba ever pulls on our shirt again... I'm going to be "betting in play" Ray Winstone style, for whoever we're playing's front man to bag a brace I'll be quids in.
Austin Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 http://www.dailymoti...ighlights_sport Highlights for those interested.
Leicesterpool Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 We'll be back in london in a months time. Watch your backs it's Millwall!

He didn't have a great game today, but I thought he was the best of a bad bunch at the back (I know others disagree). Bamba is always, always, always blamed whenever he plays and we have a poor game defensively. Always.
HoustonFox Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Conclusions from Stamford Bridge. Good blog as usual but how you didn't have Bamba as a loser today I'll never know (unless you tell me!)

Bamba is always, always, always blamed whenever he plays and we have a poor game defensively. Always. Mate, sorry I disagree with you. Bamba's I'll discipline cost us a least two goals today. Not marking Cahill for the first and ball chasing on the half way line for the third. Sure he made some nice runs but he was our worst defender in my opinion today.
Haydos Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 He didn't have a great game today, but I thought he was the best of a bad bunch at the back (I know others disagree). Bamba is always, always, always blamed whenever he plays and we have a poor game defensively. Always. That's not true though. He gets blamed when he ****s up. He was directly at fault for their 2nd and 3rd goals today. That's without even talking about the 5th where he just fell over in front of Torres. Why was he on the edge of their area when they managed to break? Completely stupid. His shit decision making cost us for the 3rd. You can't just come haring out of defence like that, charging after the ball like a dog. Again, awful. He does these kind of things on a regular basis and even if he isn't directly responsible he can leave others exposed.
Yojoe36 Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Chelsea fans = Best fans in English football. Who the fvck came on a HT? Seriously. The Chelsea fans clapped him, and didn't have a clue who he was. I know Chelsea isn't the most vocal club. But Jesus Christ. 5 goals and not even a single song was sang. That's an embarrassment, especially when they but the lyrics on the screen. Anyway. Pearson's XI was a shocker by putting Gally on. WHY???!!!!

I shouted during the 1st half what I thought of his performance and the lad in front of me turned around and said 'You can't be angry with him because we're playing against Chelsea' I gave up!

Someone said something similar on here earlier. It's not about ability, it's about him being a fvcking idiot. I have no idea what goes through his head.
